Fall harvest Thanksgiving Disneyland hotel.

That was one of the complaints last year, that by the time Disney published the information, it was several days later and everything was sold out. And on a moderated blog, Disney published those comments and went ahead and did the same thing again this year.

I'm shocked by this too (although I shouldn't be surprised)! My family's been doing the Disneyland Hotel Thanksgiving Feast for several years, it's become a tradition, so we know how to count 60 days from Thanksgiving and we plan accordingly. Apparently a lot of other people know about Thanksgiving at Disneyland and how to count too based on the long wait times on the phone this morning. But I feel really bad for the casual Disney-goer who get their Disney news and planning tips from official channels.

Last year, the Disney Parks Blog posted that reservations for Thanksgiving dining were open the day-of, after they had been available for hours and a lot of times had been booked. The year before, the DPB actually posted incorrect information that reservations for the DLH Feast would start on 10/8, when in fact it opened up at 60 days along with all the other restaurants on 9/28, and the DPB didn't post a correction until that night (when presumably a lot, if not all, of the seatings had already been booked). I haven't seen the DPB posting anything about Thanksgiving dining this year, and reservations for most restaurants have been open since Sunday.

:-) I said I would like if they published something, not that I would ever expect it. It's clear that this is the way Disney rolls. It's annoying, sure, but I'm used to it after all these years and fortunate in that I know what to expect. I agree that the more casual visitor can end up disappointed which is unfortunate. Frankly, Disney just doesn't have the capacity to deal with the sheer number of people that might be interested in their special meal offerings for that one day. The fact that they do open up the bookings without any info or notice out there easy to find and they still book up this crazy quickly just shows that. Can you imagine what the phone waits and website crashes would be like if they did publish all the info first then open up the reservations?

For those wondering, the Dine Line CM told me that the characters at Storyteller's this year would be the same woodland creatures that they have at the character breakfasts. He had not heard that any different characters would be there, but then again, you never know. He did say that there would be no music. That will only be at the DLH.

Will they be at dinner as well as breakfast then? Any idea on pricing for this year? Thanks for the info!

I'm surprised to see reservations for the Disneyland Hotel Thanksgiving Dinner still available the morning after! I guess the prepayment discouraged just-in-case and over-booking.

We are really excited for our reservations at the ballroom. We are eating at 12:00. Does anyone have advice for us? What time should we arrive? How are most guests dressed? Is there a time limit? About how much time total should we plan for this? Thanks in advance. Any other tips for surviving Disneyland during the holiday weekend?

Last year we had 12 or 12:15 reservations and arrived about 30 minutes early and there was already a line formed. People dress from park casual to nicely so it's up to you. No time limit that I'm aware of as we easily took 1.5 hours but I try to be courteous of other guests within reason , so you shouldn't feel rushed but I can't imagine spending more than 2 hours. There are meet and greets so that may take extra time but worth it.

Honestly we found Thanksgiving last year delightful , lines were under 20-25 for most , parade dots easy to find and some special photo ops on Main Street with thanksgiving signs.

Time limit, I haven't actually seen them enforce one, but it is supposedly 90 mins. People taking longer are generally the reason the second and third wave end up waiting.

Hi, We have been doing the Thanksgiving Feast for a few years now. What I like about the earlier reservations is that you get to see the tables with a full setting on them. Once the first seating is done they quickly change the linens and just do a simple place setting. A few of the cast members have told me that some people stay there all day! We don't rush and we are generally out in 2 hours or less. We never dress up but yes some guest do. So what ever you are comfortable with.
