Has anyone had any problems booking a week long trip at GVC for a one bedroom unit in October or early November at the seven month mark?

I think it's a little hard to say right now since the resort is still new. But GCV is one of the smallest resorts in the DVC line up so chances are it's going to be difficult if you're not flexible on your dates.

Just to give you an idea, I was able to book 5 days straight during christmas 2010 in March no problem. I thought because of the crazy high points requirement there'll be plenty of rooms left for those dates.

And then in early June (just inside 7 months) I found out that we had to change some dates around and need to add a room. None available (absolutely no rooms except for GV for 1 of the days I need) for those dates. I really was surprised, didn't think there'll be that much interest because of the crazy points requirement. But I was really wrong.

Again, take it with a grain of salt... it's christmas time and everybody goes on vacation then :)

ps: Oh and when you go in fall will make a difference as well. Halloween is big in DL CA. So I'm sure those dates will be gone faster than if you're talking about early september or maybe november.

We had no problems booking a studio for a week this fall, 9/28 through 10/5. Called right at 7 months just in case.

At the 7 month mark I suspect you'd be able to find a room. We live in Seattle and bought a 125 add-on so that we could be sure to get GCV rooms, we were worried about availability with such a small resort. However, this year we were able to use our 250 SSR contract to make a last minute September trip (made the ressie only about 6 weeks before departure). In order to make that work we had to pretty much let them pick the dates, and reserve a 2BR for the first night. We usually stay in 1BR's these days, as we travel with 2 adults, a 2 yr old, and a 9 yr old (used to do 2BRs, but the 19 yr old and 17 yr old rarely go with us now).

I really, really love this resort. No Disney property is closer to a park than this one, and it's just a beautiful place with great dining all around too. If DVC wasn't so east-coast heavy you'd never get a room at 7 months! The place is amazing.

I did have a ressie for a bedroom for this Oct but wanted a studio and I think I booked it back in MArch/April. This MS told me it was pretty full at that time for October. Not sure how November looks.
