Fall getaway rate cheaper than AP or Pin code rate!!

Hi all-

First time poster, long time reader and disboards lover.

Never felt the need to post until today. I was lucky and got a fall pin code for Disneyland back at the end of August. I immediately felt like I won the lotto and locked in my low rate for Nov. 17-22 at GCH, concierge level.

Up until receiving the pin code, I was like everyone else and logged in daily to check the AP rate which didn't get lowered until recently.

Well low and behold, I happen to do the 'hotel only' query on disneyland.com under 'Fall Getaway' rate and received a LOWER rate than the pin code or ap rate!!

I immediately called and changed my reservation. I didn't see any other posts on this hotel pricing difference so I thought I would share my discovery.

Keep in mind, I only checked for my specific rate (concierge at GCH) but assume that this lower pricing is across the board. YMMV

OMG! you are right! Thanks for posting this. I have the GCH standard view booked with the AP rate for Oct 28-Nov 1st. The 3 nights were $717. With the Fall Getaway rate it is $699! $18 lower! Granted, not a big amount of money, but still!
Now I need to call.

I just changed my GCH DtD view reservations from the AP rate to the fall getaway.

This was a $60 savings (3.75%)

Under the 'good rates' theme: I noticed Expedia has Paradise Pier fall dates at $100/night.

Kerri if you are staying after oct 1st thru mid dec I think it should come up if you book at least a 2 night stay. For me the six dollars savings wasn't a big deal to book an extra night.

We originally got a PIN and booked DLH with a 1 bedroom suite for me, my husband, our two friends and our 9 month old. We rebooked GCH with a regular room and saved $1500. I almost passed out. I know we'll have to share a room, but seriously, it's worth it.

For me, a 2-night stay in October came out to be more at the Fall rate than with the AP rate ($182/night ap; $195/night Fall Getaway, DLH std). I also only planned to stay 1 night, so the ap rate works better for me anyway since the FG requires a 2-night stay. I mean, I could've been convinced to stay another night......but my dh would not have understood my reasoning for it. He's already about my need to go in October (I have to activate my Costco pass by the 31st). I bought the Costco voucher last month so I could get the $50 gift card and the $20 lower ap rate. He doesn't see that that $70 was a savings since I'm going to fly down and spend a night plus 2 days in DL next month in order to take advantage of it

Good to know about the Fall Getaway, though, as I'm hoping to get in a trip in Nov or Dec. at GCH--I'll check both rates and see which is lower!

I just called and got the new rate applied too. It was $ 20 for my stay. That doesn't sound like much, but it does almost cover my character meal at the Plaza Inn.

I have two concierge rooms booked in Nov and saved close to $75 on each room. But any little savings is still savings in my book!

Interesting...just now, when I checked our potential dates in November, DLH was cheaper across the board with the AP rates while GCH was cheaper across the board with the Fall Getaway rates! We'd save roughly $10/night for a standard room and $20/night concierge at DLH with AP, but for GCH, we'd save about the same amounts on those same rooms with the Fall Getaway! That's weird. Anyway, it pays to be alert...thanks for the heads up! If we go with GCH I'll use FG and if we go DLH, I'll use AP
