Fall/Fall Advantage 2010 Interview Thread!

I know my interview is tomorrow at 2! I am so nervous and I want to do well but i don't want to say the wrong things. Also I don't want to say the same things as everyone else so I am trying to make my answers unique but it is hard. I am going to have a heart attack before tomorrow I am pretty sure.

My interview is tomorrow night! I'm getting so nervous!! :scared1:

Are you all doing anything to prepare for your interviews? I don't want to over-prepare and then sound like a robot when I talk to my interviewer. But I want to practice enough so that I don't stutter and stumble all over myself...

I have a massive list o' questions, but instead of writing out possible answers in complete sentences, I have bullet points of what I'd like to bring up. Like the thesis of my interview I guess, to put it in school terms. :thumbsup2

I had possible questions I thought they would bring up, and I would jot down a few important good words I wanted to work into my answers.

Also, I had bullet points for my why I want to work there thing, because I knew that it was a really emotional topic for me, and I wanted to stay on track.

I get to call and schedule my interview tomorrow....Well, at least i get to try to. Seems like sometimes you have to call multiple times to get through or have to wait on hold for a while. I'm hoping that they have some interviews available soon. Because that would mean less time to wait :)

i have a quick question everybody says that they you can request a place to work after u get accepted and i know that even if you request it it doesnt mean ull get it. but i was jw cuz if i get attractions theres some rides i wanna request is it bad to request more than one like maybe 5 or does it not matter?

You can suggest an area or a type of ride I think more so than you can suggest 5 distinct rides. In the end, they're not focused on making you happy (although if you are, that's good for them) they just need people to run rides.

And the people you talk to are not the same as the people who assign jobs... so it's possible those requests can get lost.

I would work on narrowing your list down to one, maybe two, and wait to see.

I don't know who you would tell at this stage about your requests... your recruiter, maybe?

I wanted to wish everyone luck on their interviews today!

Smile, speak clearly, and be happy! :tink:

Oh goodness...my interview is in 6 mins! I haven't felt nervous at all up until now!............... :scared1:

Good lcuk everyone interviewing today! I have mine at 5:15 est. I'm so nervous I keep going over random interview questions lol

Just finished my interview. I must say I haven't been that nervous about a "Unknown" calling before in my life.

Didn't get any of the "What would you do?" questions, that I prepared for. More along the lines of "What have you experienced".
All in all, I think it went well. I did almost freak out when after I answered the "Why D*sney?" question and it was dead silence on the other end. She assured me that it was because she was writing down what I had said, and not that it was a bad answer.

Good luck to everyone else today! It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.:woohoo:

Did you have Linda too? That makes me feel better if they're not asking as many "What would you do in this situation" questions.

Alrighty....I just got off the phone literally about 2 mins ago. (Big sigh of relief! lol) I got Linda. Alot of people have gotten her as well...it seems like she's the only one interviewing! lol I agree with everyone who said she was super nice....she really is!
We went over everything that was on the application, went over the Disney look, all that good stuff. We talked about my past work experience. She asked me which roles would be my top 3 or 4. She only asked me one situational question, and it wasn't about a certain role specifically. It was just about general multitasking. So, I'm kinda worried about that. (The fact that I didn't get specific role questions..) She also asked where I would prefer to work, park or resort. We then had a long (fun) conversation about the park I chose, because it's her favorite too! So that's a good thing! haha At that point, the interview was pretty much over. She asked if I had any questions...which I did ask one.
All in all, I think it went fairly well. I don't feel like I'm for sure going to get it in, but I feel like I did my best, and that's all I can do. ;)

Good luck to everyone else that's interviewing today!! :goodvibes

Oh..and I forgot to mention that she called 3 mins late....(not bad at all! I was expecting at least 5! lol)...and the interview lasted exactly 19 mins and 23 secs. haha
Some of you might want to know that information. :thumbsup2

I agree. Now I feel better that I only got asked a few actual role-oriented questions. Hopefully that's just Linda's style.

Do you think saying that you'd rather work in a resort would give someone a better chance of getting hospitality/concierge? I said either, because they're both magical in their own ways. I hope I didn't mess up my chances of getting my top choice.

Yes, I had her too.
She was very nice, although sometimes I may have over answered. She never asked "what park I prefer", so I kinda added that into one of my other answers.

Oooo, sneaky! I didn't think of that! I said both too, because at this point, I just want to have the best chances of getting in. And for Character Performer, I wouldn't mind being at resorts for breakfasts or at parks, so that didn't matter to me. And Attractions is only at Parks, so that didn't matter.

It might have hurt you if you picked parks over resorts, but said Hospitality - I think being willing to do both shows you're dedicated and willing to work... I don't know though! I wish you luck in Hospitality.... that was my #4 - it usually is #2 for me, but I switched it up this year.

Yeah, hopefully.
