Fall discounts 2017

Some of it is regional too. I live in the PNW and you can't even get a gross hotel room for less than $120. A decent one is around $200. So when my family booked our first WDW vacation last month for November we booked POFQ for $209 a night. That's a perfectly fine "deal" as far as I'm concerned until I start reading the dis boards ! LOL! Now I'll be looking to see if I can get a discount like everyone else. I agree with who ever above that said wouldn't it just be easier if Disney vacations were offered at the fair price so there was none of this waiting for discounts!

Disney knows that you want to feel like you got a good deal. Even if a "discount" is the normalized rate, it makes you feel better.

Remember when J.C. Penny tried to eliminate coupons? Yeah, that didn't last long.

I understand the mindset of believing you are getting deal but the fact is, as it stands now, I'm taking essentially the same vacation as I did the last 2 years (Exactly the same as 2015) and I'm paying $2500 more this year.

There's no perception, no feelings, no marketing spin...

I don't care how they get me that $2500. It wasn't in the normalized rate so it so now I'm looking for "deals".

Yeah, but the rumors in this thread (and the free dining one) aren't making things look good - Still a chance though
October doesn't seem to get much discount love anymore. It's very popular in terms of hotel bookings so there isn't much reason for Disney to offer the discounts.

Yeah, I had a wake-up call about hotel prices yesterday. When looking at places to stop on the way home, a Pensacola Beach hotel starts at around $300/night w/ taxes. It's not even a "nice" one, judging by the reviews saying it needs updating. It's within walking distance to the beach so, $$$.

Love it or hate it, Disney is in business for the money. Makes sense for them to book the rooms at a higher rate, then offer discounts/promotions to help fill up rooms in any "lull" periods. We love Disney (the fun part... we try to ignore the money part once we are paid) - glad they offer the deals during some of the less crowded and less miserably hot times. :mickeyjum

Hello All, can anyone confirm the following. Last year, for Room Only(RO), November 2016, 2 days were blacked out (Nov 11th and Nov 12th). If they do the same this year , it will be 10th and 11th. Does this mean that if I check in on the 9th, I would still be eligible for Room only discounts for my entire stay or would it be for all of the days I am there except those 2? I know for free dining, if you check in on an eligible date , you are good for your entire stay but not sure how RO discounts work with a blackOUT date in the middle of your trip. Alternatively, I have friends arriving on the 10th. If the blackout date is the 10th, does that mean they can't get any of their days under the RO discount because they checked on a blackout date or will they at least get the discount applied to the days after the 2 blackout dates? Sorry for the long winded question. Appreciate any guidance. Thanks All!!

Room only is different from free dining. The discount only applies to the days of your reservation that are eligible under the discount, whereas with free dining, you get the discount for your entire stay if you check in during the free dining period.

Thank you. So I can assume then I can get a discount for my days except the 2 blackout days. It has nothing to do with when I check in. If I am stay 9th - 17th (8 nights) that I can get 6 days discounted? Alternatively my travelmates arriving 10th - 17th (7 nights) can get the 5 nights discounted? Assuming its released.

Yes, you'd get the days discounted that aren't blacked out

So, we've already booked the 11th through the 18th. If I call after the RO discount is released (assuming it does come out and my stay qualifies) can they just apply it to my reservation or do I have to cancel and re-book?

We're booked at AS Sports in hopes of getting the FD 2017 promotion but really don't want to be there. Can anyone tell me if AS Movies has been a part of the FD offers in the past? Thank you!

No, you should be able to modify your reservation right online or just call and they'll apply the discount *IF* your booked room qualifies for the discount and if there is inventory to be discounted at your resort. You may have to change room types to get it.

One more question, do they release the RO. discount the same day as the free dining or will it come out later?
Depends. Sometimes they release multiple offers at once and sometimes they don't

They have. However, that doesn't mean it will be offered at that resort this time.

Thank-you for replying! That sounds pretty easy! Cool if it works out, but no biggie if it doesn't. I guess I'll be waiting for Monday just like everyone else!
