I am starting paperwork to buy a resale at BCV. We wanted to go back to WDW sometime this fall, Oct/Nov/early Dec but avoiding holidays. How possible will it be to get BCV? I am assuming I will be at about 4-5 months out by the time it closes (if it passes Disney). I have been reading on here how that time of year is tough at BCV. We would be looking for a studio or 1 bedroom. Our second choice would be AKL which seems like it has more available space. Thanks!

It's so hard to say. When we purchased I was able to get 3 nights in a 2BR at BCV the middle of Dec at 6 months out but could not get more than the 3 nights.

Mid-Nov will probably be your best chance but you just never know until you call. It's good to have your second and third choices ready to check on. A lot will depend on how long you wish to stay in locating a time that has availability for your whole stay.

Good luck with your purchase and getting your reservation!

I thought I would have a problem getting BCV at 5.5 mths out in August because of the awesome pool there but I didn't. I think it depends on what kind of room you want also, there was availability for a 1br but maybe if I wanted a studio I wouldn't have got it.

I just closed on a BCV contract and will give it a shot for OCT as well. But we are going to go for 7 or 8 nights, so I expect a split stay at another resort. That's not a bad option for us, as it will give us a chance to see another resort maybe. As long as I can squeeze it into 2 resorts, I'd be ok with it. More than that, its too much of a hassle.

BCV is a very small resort and any time during the Food & Wine Festival is going to be much harder to get. People owning at other resorts are calling right at the 7 month mark to waitlist to move over to BCV during F&W.

Nothing is impossible but I wouldn't set my heart on staying at BCV in October-mid November when trying to book at 4-5 months out.

4-5 months out may be pushing it a little. I know myself and some others were able to get BCV right at the 7 month window while some others had to waitlist. If you go after F&W you may have a better shot but you also have Turkeyday coming up right after as well as early Dec which seems to be very popular with DVC members. Good luck and I hope you get it.

I tried to book bwv and bcv today at 7 months for Columbus day and everything was booked up for 2 bedrooms.

In "normal" times, you wouldn't be able to book BCV at the 4/5 month mark. But these aren't normal times. People were able to book things in 2009 that never would have been open in past years. And BLT excitement has drawn a few folks away from BCV.

So there's a chance, just don't count on it. A 1BR is much more likely to be available than a studio.
