Looking at fall 2020 trip for just me and wife.
Question is do I rent points at 11 months and get beach club or board walk. Or do I book at Caribbean beach and pray for free dining. Cause I know if I rent points don’t get free dining i can’t cancel. Prices as of now look like if rent boardwalk would be 25$ more then carribean beach. What would u do

Also if rent points do I still get 60 day fast pass options and can I buy tickets from undercover tourist and link to app?

You get everything as a renter as you would booking a cash room (reservation linked in MDX, tickets, fastpass, etc.)

As for rolling the dice...on free dining...I personally would rather stay at BWV over CB, but that's just me. Then again, CB has the Skyliner now so that may change things. I still think I would pick the BoardWalk, even if that means losing out on free dining. Matter of personal preference. Have they historically offered free dining every fall?

If you're driving I say go with renting since then the parking will be free but if you're flying that perk doesn't matter. It depends on what's more important I guess, free dining or being next to two parks and if it's only $25 then I'd definitely suggest staying at the BW or BC.

That’s a good point as we do drive. Although we did get lucky 3 weeks ago at POR that they didn’t charge us parking.

Are you pricing out renting a standard view at boardwalk? If so, don’t. You won’t get one as a renter in the fall. Price out pool/garden. Standard view studios are extremely hard for owners to book during food and wine.

I would try to rent at the 11 month mark, you may not be able to secure points/ find someone to rent at BC or BWV. If you aren't able to rent points at either of those resorts then you can go to plan b, and hope for free dining! I always like to have back up plans too :) Have a great trip!

DVC has what is called Fall Frenzy. That means that there is a rush to book DVC resorts for Sept through mid-Jan because that's when it's all happening at WDW. If you want to book BWV, plan on booking BWV Preferred (not BW view) Garden/Pool view. That is 60% of the resort and has a better chance to be booked if you have to wait to find a DVC owner with BWV or BCV points. It may be hard, but it is possible. If you plan on using a broker, plan on contacting them near 12 months out and paying in full so you are at the front of the line for BWV or BCV points. If you get private messages from people telling you they have BWV or BCV points, ignore those. That is how people get scammed by creeps trying to steal your money. They are getting so good these days that they will pose as a real DVC owner using the real owner's information, but the email address will be slightly different from what the real owner might use. And they will fake a real looking confirmation for a reservation. If you use a broker, only talk to the broker since they will do all the communication between you and the points owner. If you decide to use the DIS Rent/Trade Board on the DVC Boards, read all the sticky threads at the top of the page before you respond to any posted messages.

If you decide to go with CBR, remember that you will have the Skyliner to get you to and from Epcot and DHS from there.
