Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

Keep checking SunnieRN!!! I believe I read on another thread that someone was able to get a deal 60 days out from their trip. Heck, I keep checking for FD at POR even though I'll probably just stick with POP.:)
Yes! It was probably me you saw say that. lol. You can usually find the best deals 2-3 months out. And usually on a Tuesday, of course. It requires having a lot of patience to wait that long, but when you are buying 5 tickets, $50 each adds up!

Hey, that's $250 that can be used for an extra day a Disney!!! :D

I would definitely keep checking!!! I was looking for a friend yesterday and POP century popped up for me. She had been trying for weeks! Good luck sweet pea!!!!

Persistence definitely pays off! Because I've been (admittedly) obsessively checking over the last two months, managed to get FD, lower SW flights, lower rental car rate, Ohana reservation (just got a better time because of the lovely DIS members who I've learned about TP ADR finder from via a basic subscription!), and great tips on GC deals! Never expected so many things to work out, but heard so many people's stories so gave the persistence thing a shot and it does work!! :flower1::yay: So rewarding especially when it does work out!

You're the bomb!!!! I'm not giving up!! Right now, our flight there, if we fly to Tampa on SW, we can get tickets for $79 each, as of today. But....... then Eric have to rent a car and the flights back on Dec. 17th are $249 each. Usually our RT flights are less then that. So, I'll just keep on checking!

People on the Dis are awesome, but people on this thread are amazing!!!!!!

We would be paying $120 each over what we would have paid 60 days ago. It's amazing how SWA raise in flights has affected all the airlines. Gas is still cheap airline people, lol.

I posted the below in a different thread, but it's an example of how persistence can pay off. I may have just been lucky, but perhaps a little pixie dust will come your way very soon! pixiedust:

"As annoying as it can be, sometimes it is worth a quick check daily to see where prices are. I had about 10 min of idle time on Saturday, so decided to give it a quick check even though prices had not moved again for us the last couple weeks, and welllllllll, our return flight went from $136 to $103, so I made the change (since we booked with pts)! To my surprised (and out of curiosity), I checked again on Sunday, just to see, and back to $136 it went just within 24 hours! o_O

We booked in April and our RT price trajectory (with hikes in between after we booked/changed) has been: $407 => $347 => $294 => $266 => $236

Since we booked with points, changes are easy since the pts just get credited, but I can imagine it's harder for those who aren't booking with points to book and wait for changes..."

Yes, just as with free dining/discount availability, and ADR's, persistence when looking for airfare pays off!

I am still looking most days to switch from BC to YC for our 2!night add on with our UOC also. I haven't given up yet!

They just opened up a ton of rooms for FD offer. You might be able to add on those 2 nights now!

Does anybody know if you can make changes to your reservation if you've already paid in full? I"m thinking a downgrade and we're over 90 days out.

Thats our dates too, but we did it on a bounce back with last years prices for the Park tickets and it would cost us to move from preferred to standard. Like 600.
We had a bounce back too but had to cancel because November worked better for us. We did book a Standard at POR with last years dining and ticket prices so I will have to wait until the middle of November discounts are released to see if it would even make sense to switch what we have. We are pretty set on POR this time so I am patiently waiting.:rolleyes1

I believe you can make changes up to 30 days out, and in the case of a downgrade they will refund you. I'd definitely call and ask!

We are going to bounce back again next year, but we don't know if we are going to use them because our parents want to go to Hawaii. They say that now but usually they are pretty good at not saving so....

Thanks, my TA is calling. I hope the rooms are still available and they can just credit our account or something. Refunding will be a pain.

That's amazing!!! I've been checking a few airlines every day, but it is really inexpensive for us to drive, so now it's just a wait and see what happens, lol. Either way I'm fine. But, I'll keep looking!!! Thank you!!!!! The component that's making it so expensive is flying home on December 17. It's too close to Christmas.
