Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

Yep! I believe that they legit feel cold, but it's still a little funny to me. I visited my friend in Miami in January, and it was 75 degrees. She kept apologizing for the cool weather and said we needed to skip the beach. lol!

LOL! When we went to Disney last time, it was 2012. We went during the fall...if I remember correctly we were there on actual Halloween. So, one day during our vacay, we decided to swim in the morning and hit the parks later. We walked down to the pool at AKL chatting, anticipating a nice swim since it was 70ish. We are from IL, 70 is NOT cold! We walk into the pool gate and find all the lifeguards and staff wearing PARKAS!!!! No kidding, they had fur lining! I'm sure some of that was a nod to AK, but they were seriously cold and thought we had completely lost our minds to want to swim in the "freezing weather". We laughed through our whole swim and how different people from different parts of America feel about temps!

We are from southern Canada our weather is almost the same as Buffalo or Niagara Falls weather in the USA. To us in the 70's is beautiful!

Grrrr I wish Disney would release the rest of the December hours!!!! I know someone said they found them, but I can only see until Monday 12/12.

I wouldn't swim in 70 degree weather!!! I wouldn't be wearing a parka, but sweatshirt, definitely!!!!

Right now it is 72 where we live and everyone has shorts and t-shirts on, LOL. My sister in law lives in Florida and used to not be able to handle the heat when she first moved there. It took her a couple of years to get used to it. I guess your blood is thinner if you live in a warmer climate and you can't tolerate the cold as much but handle heat better. If you live in a cooler climate you have thicker blood and can tolerate cold better but not really hot weather. That's what I've heard anyway!

Ugh just saw that Akershus, Tusker House, and Chef Mickey's now require 2 dining plan credits. So frustrating. Just when I thought I was done with my ADRs!

If they are going to pick and choose shouldn't it be all character meals then? So weird!

With all the changes at the AK & Frozen taking over Norway at EPCOT it isn't too unexpected for TH & Akershus..

But Chef Mickey's? lol..

I'd be keeping an eye on other Character meals if these changes prove to be true. smh.

Surely this is a mistake. Just looked at the disney dining plan site, and still has 1 for Akershus??!!

The OP of that thread posted an update and stated that it appears to be a false alarm...a few in that thread have said they have spoken to CMs after seeing the thread, and CMs on each instance mentioned that they see no changes on their end, and they are still seeing each as 1 TS credit. Someone suggested keeping the confirmation emails since they reflect 1 TS credit and Disney should honor the email (hopefully) IF this is in fact true. Hard to imagine how they would get away with changing credits intra-year...

So regarding Akershus, Chef Mickey, and Tusker House, I just got off a chat line. The agent stated the folowing: "I wouldn't put any stock into that rumor. Right now they're just the 1 table-service entitlement and they haven't even come close to finishing the 2017 dining plan yet."

I don't understand why Akershus would be 2 TS credits for lunch and dinner because it gives you no real advantage for the Frozen attractions unless you get a PPO Breakfast.

Well if they make TH 2 TS credits, we will just skip it. But I hope it won't change for this year for sure!

If this is in fact a false alarm, and nothing changes for this year (or next), someone suggested in the original thread for this "change" that it's possible this is something on the horizon eventually. Though, I would have a hard time understanding character meals other than CRT being 2 TS credits since I would have to assume volume and turnover is where Disney makes its money on these restaurants unlike signatures where it's margin. 2 TS would certainly scale that volume back I would have to presume since there are other character meals available on property for less.
