Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

Hello, FD friends! Two questions for you smarties-- 1) Do we know that AK is going to continue it's late night closing and festivities from now on, or is it just a summer thing? I can only find plans going through Sept 5th for now. 2). Have any of you done the apply-your-ticket-price-in-your-package-to-an-annual-pass thing? I am thinking that we might do that, but not sure how that works, timing, etc. I think I had read that you go to the front desk at your resort and they can do that. Do you do it the last day? Will the whole price of the ticket in the package go towards the upgrade? Thanks!

another family member got the Fall RO UOC this week; She continues to get them via e-mail and the 10 year old is getting them in the US Mail. still holding out the slim hope that there might be an FD UOC for the Fall with better dates than the GP offer. if there is a UOC for FD 2 family members going in November have been getting them. If not, satisfied with the TA deal we have.

no one knows for sure. there have been some posters who are suggesting that after September 5 (Labor Day) perhaps Disney hopes the full ROL show will be ready but no one knows for sure. It stinks, I planned my parks days and made my ADRs and now don't know how that will work with the nighttime stuff at AK (will it be every night in the Fall?), same for the Star Wars fireworks at HS.

This morning I was doing my usually training for ADR's. You know the usual quick clicking of the keys, not blinking when scanning the page, eye exercises to focus on the loading page!! Hahahaha Anyway when doing so I noticed 11pm diner times for CRT and BOG!! Is that typical.....never seen that before. Anyone booked late night like that before. If so, how was your experience?

Does anyone have a link or calendar of the 'true' Thanksgiving week hours from 2015. Trying to determine if there is a chance the MK will open at 8am or 7am any day this year.

I'm guessing they allow you to book so late since the park is open till midnight on certain nights. Good luck booking your ADR's!!!!!!

We've upgraded our package tickets to AP's on a few occasions. Do your upgrade at Guest relations inside the park anytime before your tickets expire. We like to do it early in our trip since pass holders get 10% off merchandise and some other deals. Yes the whole price of the ticket will go towards the upgrade. You just pay the difference.

I was reading trip adviser reviews for the yacht club to get excited about our stay. But then I read one post that said the yacht club will be under renovations late this year and early into next year. I can't seem to find any other info. I just hope that after securing our room with fd, we don't go and find out that renovations will be happening! Would Disney do that?

Free Dining is usually during the less busy weeks. That is often when rides, restaurants and resorts are refurbished, updated, renovated.

We had free dining 2 years ago at Music and food court was being renovated. They have to do it sometime and slower times are the best. Didn't ruin our trip at all.

If you are already booked I wouldn't worry about your stay. Disney should notify you if there is anything going on during your stay. I have received 2 letters prior to arriving for my trips. From what I have experienced, they are very good at not letting the work they are doing interfere with your vacation. If it should be anything major, they should be accommodating to make your stay pleasant.

We have also upgraded our tickets, did it this February since we knew we were going back in November for 8 days. It was super easy! The night we landed we went to Epcot Guest Relations right away and it only took about 15 minutes. We did not have Memory Maker with our park tickets so that is why we chose to upgrade right away to be able to have that during our stay, and yes, the discounts are nice too!

Happy Thursday everyone!! I hope everyone's plans for Memorial Day are coming along well!! I'd really like it if December hours would get posted!!!! It would help finalize my plans and help me decide where we will starting our days and where we want to eat!!

For now I'm refusing to believe we might have to cancel our trip. Like Dorey always says, "Keep on swimming"!

I can't seem to find anything about it either other than what the Disney website tells us. I have clients traveling to Yacht Club during the refurbishments and I would like to get them more information as to how it may impact their stay.

I have been searching the Dis and other websites for any information but can't find anything.

Hi everyone! I have been away for a little bit trying to get caught up on all the work that I slacked on while constantly checking the Dis during our Free Dining days.

I just want to say that Disney is KILLING me with these December hours. Why on earth are they only releasing one day at a time?! If this continues, we won't know our park hours until June 9-16 and then our ADR day is the 19th. That messes with all of the people that create crowd calendars and it gives us just a few short days to figure out where we are going when.

On a happier note, I have been stalking the Disney site looking for free dining at the Yacht Club, Beach Club or Contemporary for a client. Finally today I found a Disney Visa Cardholder offer for Yacht Club. The client doesn't have a Disney Visa card but my husband and I just signed up for one last Saturday. I held the reservation, but just need our Disney card to arrive within the next three days so I can secure it.

But to anyone that is still looking, just keep checking! You never know when one will pop up!

I called Yacht Club and asked about any refurbs going on the end of the year. I was told there was nothing on the calendar, but she could only see through November. I did see it mentioned on ************** that refurbs should be coming this year at Yacht Club. Hopefully someone will find out more details soon.

You can call Chase and ask that they overnight the card to you. They'll likely do so no-charge. I called to have them expedite my card to me just before FD was released (in case it was released early to DC cardholders). They had it to me within 36 hours of calling.

I may try that. This is the Disney Chase Debit Card, and I think it should have already been mailed. We should receive it any day I believe. Just hoping to get it before the hold expires or hoping Disney will extend a hold a reservation until it arrives.
