Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

Hope everyone's Sunday is going well! I'm still trying to decide which ADRs I want for sure lol.

I would think you could see more animal activity at night by visiting AKL and using the night viewing goggles. It could be a fun experience to do the night time safari just to say you did it I guess lol.

I think our kids might like using night viewing goggles and watching the animals it sounds fun! I've already booked our ADR's but I can't leave them alone, LOL. I had such a hard time getting CRT last time when my DD changed her mind and really wanted it, so my DH said book it now just in case. He also decided he liked the steak at BOG dinner and so I had to add that ADR. Now we have too many ADR's and I have to decide if we are going to drop some or just pay out of pocket for the extra ones. At least my DD says she doesn't care if she meets A&E this time because she met them last time so that is one less thing to have to figure out!

I'm glad my trip isnt for 6 months so they can work out AK nighttime stuff, Star wars fireworks stuff, etc. By the time my 60 day FP window opens I should have a solid plan to go off of.

HOWEVER if they pull the Baymax meet and greet heads will roll. We missed him by a few weeks last trip and my kids were devastated. Same with Jedi training.
Where are the Baymax M&Gs?? My boys love him and we missed him last year!

I know Askerhaus PPO may be hard to get, but instead of CRT, maybe you could go to Askerhouse, see the Princesses and save a credit?

I'm having trouble deciding ADR's also. I figure if I we were paying for the room, purchasing the DDP, we would still be able to buy our Candlelight Processional meal and maybe one more and still be ahead!!

We did get a PPO breakfast on our Epcot day and I am really excited about it!!! Last time we had Akershus booked and our DD (5 at the time) decided she wanted to do CRT instead about a month before our trip, LOL. We have 2 boys also so we usually let her pick only 1 princess meal. I think I will cancel CRT and stick with Akershus because then she can hopefully ride the Frozen ride after breakfast! I would definitely do the CP meal if you can, I think it would be so magical and really get everyone in the Christmas spirit!!! I would love to go one year in December just to see it! I think you are right if you look how much you saved getting FD instead of buying the Dining Package you would still come out ahead paying for the CP package!:)

Is anyone planning on doing the safari at night? Not sure how lively the animals will be at night or if it would just be better to go during the day.

I am! I'm secretly hoping they let you use night vision goggles on the safari, but if they don't I'm sure they have something planned to make sure you see everything. Most safari animals are more active at night (because that is when it's cooler) and it'd be great to see some of the more unusual, nocturnal animals that you normally just see sleeping.

We have been twice during the day and at least half of the animals were sleeping both times, LOL! I think you are right more might be out at night when it is cooler.:)

As cool as i think it'd be to do..i wonder about the animals? isn't there a reason they normally close AK early?

So sad to see that Dinosaur is going to be closed when we're there! I didn't get to ride last year because DS refused to go back on after he rode with my DH!!! Haha oh well there's always next year! DH promised me that as long as I don't "go for the girl" I can go to Disney every year and instead of looking at it as an expensive vacation he'll consider it a cheap third child! Lol:P

I read on one of the other threads that they will have some different animals out at night they then do during the day. Someone explained it well in another thread, I just can't figure out where I read it, maybe the ROL lookout thread? I also read they will have no fireworks in the new show so as not to scare the animals.

I booked BOG dinner again because the steak was soooo good last time.

When we went to see CP it was misting rain the whole time. I had one kid asleep across my lap, the other one propped up beside me and the camcorder recording. I thought no big deal, I'll just listen now then watch the show when we get back to the room. Nope. Turned the playback on and we got nada. I was so excited too because Doogie Howser was the guest speaker! Oh well, gives me a reason to try and book another Christmas trip someday (fingers crossed).
