For those of you considering Southwest flights, I definitely recommend waiting just a little bit more to book your flights. I'd say the best time is between 60 and 90 days before your dates, and it is true that flights go down on Tuesdays. I'm flying to Orlando this June and was able to get my flight down from PVD for $79. ($99 return on a Sunday) I booked in March. Luckily I live in Rhode Island. I find that non-stop flights from PVD to Orlando are cheap and abundant. I know it is hard to not book right now but the prices WILL go down.
There's only 1 nonstop out of my preferred airport, so I've gotta book it ASAP and pray it goes down :/

We usually don't drive straight through and take 2 days to drive there and 2 days to drive back. We don't feel sleep deprived at all (actually the kids are full of energy) as long as we stop at night to sleep. The kids love driving through the mountains because it is so flat here it's something they are not used to. They are missing school to go, so at least they are getting a Geography lesson on the way there!

WV is hard enough to drive through without ice. But we switch off and it's fine. We stop one night in orangeburg, SC. But after 9 years of driving I'm still saying it's not bad, so don't worry.
