Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

That is the main reason we are going in May. She heard about it from her VIP person. I'm trying to use that as a selling point. LOL Then we don't have to bus and we can just walk through epcot and then catch the monorail to MK.

Don't forget, you can walk or take the boat to HS too!! Did I mention that I was jealous!!

I can't wait. I would have stayed at boardwalk since its cheaper but I have heard there is a noise issue coming off the boardwalk. I want to reassure her that there is no issue at Beach club plus it kinda looks like the Grand Floridian. I might be able to convince her to stay at the Contemporary towers, but we will have to talk about it. LOL. All those options plus the dining package, and the tickets are still way less then what she was looking at. I might even do my bounce back in Sept if my brother goes, if not I'll get to try and jump on the free dining the next time or just pay for QS if I join my brother the year after.

If you book 9/9 you could extend your trip out to the 21st to include your anniversary, but that would be a long trip and I'm not sure how many days you would want to book. When I celebrated my 40th birthday we went in October (kids fall break) even though my actual birthday is in June (not sure I could stand the crowds or the heat). If you're really sure you want to go to Disney, I would go ahead and book especially if you want a certain resort/room type. That being said, it may not be included if a deal does come out later though. You could always modify if a deal does come out or cancel and rebook something entirely different if you're willing to change resorts/ room locations. I ended up paying more for my birthday trip because the only thing at POR was RR (and that was with a pin), but I was ok with it. I'm sure you'll make the right decision no matter what you choose.

i thought about doing that long but since I am leaving the kids home they probably wouldn't be happy about it.....or grandma! I think I am going to see what I think of the September heat and decide if I book early September or wait and go in December. I do love it at Christmas. And if free dining comes out in April for all of September maybe changing depending on price, or a good RO discount. Or a pin code! We may do a value since it's just us or splurge for a deluxe. I'll figure it out soon....

Thanks CandiceF! Both girls seemed to be excited about their 1st day of school. I hope your kids are enjoying their summer break minus the heat. It's terrible here too. Last trip, my youngest hit the 48 inch mark. I remember years prior thinking will this be the year she can ride Thunder Mtn.. I think we measured her every week once our trips were booked. To commemorate these momentous occasions, I took her photo when they checked her height at Thunder and RNR to show she was tall enough to ride. I hope your youngest is able to experience "the wildest ride in the wilderness" on your trip!!!

"The Wildest ride in the wilderness" would be appropriate for my youngest because he is by far the wildest of my 3!

Just read that the Main Street Electrical Parade will be leaving MK 10/9. Wonder how many people booked the dining package to see this and what will happen now. Will there be a replacement? Will Star Wars firework show continue? Will ROL ever debut?

I wasn't planning on seeing the parade but now that it's leaving I wonder if I should move some things around to see it. And Star Wars and Fantasmic can't be seen the same night! I think I need to spend some time on my nighttime plans. I have a package to see jungle book. With all the reviews I don't know if I want to see it.

I heard that too, but its moving to DL and I go there since im in the next state over. But we will probably watch it while we're there. I don't think I've ever seen it all the way through. I'm sure they already have something planned to replace it. I heard the Star Wars fireworks are awesome so looking forward to that. I'm thinking ROL will not go on till late fall. Its funny the last day we are there It's A Small World reopens and when my friends were there it closed on their last day.

For now, my plan is to PH to HS after Epcot to see the fireworks (we'll try to catch Fantasmic on our regular HS day). If no fireworks, maybe we'll check out the Boardwalk area. Last night, I watched a Disney vlog by PeasandCarrots that showed photo booths there and you can use your magic band to have photos added to your MM account. At this point, if ROL happens to be added to AK schedule, we might skip it anyway. We'll still be at Disney during the final run of MSEP, but we've already seen it a couple of times and have it on video.

If Disney did know they were going to be pulling MSEP, why offer dining packages for it? If they do have a replacement in place, why not announce it when they announced MSEP was leaving? Kinda makes you wonder . The last day for Jungle Book right now is 9/5. I think I read somewhere that ROL might not debut till after Thanksgiving. I really hope they decide to keep the fireworks at HS. I mean with Star Wars Land coming they would have to right? Then again, the Frozen fireworks didn't stick around. I just hope everyone gets the info they need so they can finalize their trips sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed and pixie dust too !!! I now have It's a Small World stuck in my head.

Exactly! I was telling my dd16 something from here the other day and she said "mom you are on a screen name basis with people?" haha! I need to write down where the booths are and all the magic shots. First time we have bought the mm. 19 days today! Can't believe I am in the teens!

So what exactly is your DD trying to say?
We purchased the MM for our 1st trip (and every trip since) and I was glad we did. We stopped to visit Mickey and the gang at the Character Spot at Epcot and when it was the girls turn to go up and meet Mickey, the photographer snapped a photo of them running, arms stretched out and smiles that would light up a room. I can't remember if I smiled or cried more the 1st time I saw the photo. I'm truly grateful to have that picture and I wish I knew who the photographer was so I could thank him for capturing that wonderful memory. Be sure to add a birthday border to some of your photos so you'll remember it was your DD birthday trip. Yay for 19 days!!!

I never heard about those photo booths! We have a 2 night stay at the end of our trip at BC, we will have to look for them!

Disney must be working on their calendar. AK is showing 8:30 close thru 10/1 and Star Wars fireworks did show 7:45 on 10/4 (for a minute), but now shows 7:45 up till 10/1 with 8pm park closing. Still no way to see fireworks and Fantasmic on the same night though.

Wow, it's been almost 3 weeks since I've been on this thread. It looks like people are getting close to their trips! I leave in 4 weeks! My MagicBand is on its way and I just found out that two friends of mine were planning to go to Universal Studios at the same time so I will have friends for that portion of my trip. I have FP+ planned, but I really need to look at the fireworks schedule because I didn't pay attention to that at all when I made my plans and I might need to move things around. I think I'm going to start packing today! Very exciting!
