Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

Thank you!!! We had a great time at RFC. My younger grandmunchkin turned into a hambone. He was dancing and singing. We sat next to the elephants and it looked like the big elephant was trying to whisper sweet nothings into my daughter's ear, as we were so close to them. Lol

We saw Dorey and her parents, but no nemo, Marlin or Hank lol. We got a volcano and only ate about an 1/8 of it lol.

So all in all a fun time!!!

I ditched Pop, "free dining", and the required PH. I switched to a $78 room at Sports, extended my stay by an additional day and additional ticket day, and still saving $200. If I eat $200 worth of food in 5 days, I break even. If not, I have fun money to spend on something else. And, I got the BB8 MB that makes noise and lights up (for the 8 year old in me)

If you don't need/want the PH then that's a great way to go!

In my opinion it would not be worth $600 upgrade. We stayed at CBR last year and it was nice, but it's a large resort (lots of bus stops and long walks to the food court). We stayed at POP our first three trips and are heading back this year. I hope you have a great trip! :)

Agree. That thought came and went pretty quickly haha! I think the thought is definitely nice, and I'm sure CBR is gorgeous, but not $600 worth in gorgeous :rolleyes1

DBF and I were actually excited to be staying at Pop for our very first on-site stay because we are like adult children and unlike some, we are excited about the oversize statues and fixtures (and being able to walk to AoA to see those as well) lol.

Hope you have a great trip back at Pop as well! :yay:

We priced out next year with the possibility of using a bounce back in Sept. We have stayed at POP for last three years and checked POP against CBR and POR and CS. The cheapest was 700 to upgrade. That plus the regular meal plan. My brother is not a fan of having to plan but one or two meals so. We shall be going wit POP again. Were also checking out our early check ins that we can put in for in two weeks.

My brother didn't do the PH till last year and at DL its fine not using it but we discovered we would never do DW again without it. And next year if we don't get the bounce back. We are going to buy someones points and stay at the Boardwalk and just eat in the room.

This will be our first year without the PH. We found we didn't use it more than once on our last couple of trips because it was just to hard to load 3 kids, strollers and diaper bags up and jump to another park and unload everyone again. I think once the kids are older we would enjoy it more!

That I can understand. Since we are just three 40 something adults we tend to spend the bulk of our time in the parks and we will hop till we find one that is not too crowded.

This will be our first trip with the PH and I'm both nervous and excited about booking FP with it!!

Woohoo!!! I just snagged the last ADR I wanted, the coveted BOG Dinner!! I'm so excited! :dancer::banana::jumping1:

After checking obsessively, I keep the browser open at work, on my phone etc, and was here at work and clicked search again for the thousandth time and there it was. One time listed. I couldn't believe it. My heart was pounding trying to make it through the information to reserve it. I was scared someone was going to get it before me as I've had that happen. But I got it. Told my DH, guess who just called and asked if we'd have dinner with him? He said, the Beast???!???!! I told him yes. We are actually probably more excited than two adults should be to meet the Beast, but oh well! Haha! :rotfl:
