Fall 2012 AP Rates- is anyone else waiting?

Ok since we are all just waiting around...please give me a little advice. Right now I have AoA LM booked for 2 nights before we move to SSR. My oldest daughter is a HUGE LM fan plus the resort looks fun, great food court too. I am ok paying the rate I have, $105 & $120 for Friday night. I doubt the LM rooms will be included--heck I'd take 5% discount! If there is no discount, which All-Star would you choose? Also, do you think a discount for POR would be the same I'm paying rack rate at AoA? My girls would be thrilled with a princess room at POR? I'd like a back up if no discounts are given for LM rooms.

The stress of waiting for AP discounts and booking BOG restaurant is killing me!

Thank you! Fingers crossed for good news Monday!

I don't really have a preference among All-Stars. As far as POR, check availability for your dates for the room type you want. If there are rooms available then there's a chance of a discount. Discounts are set based on resort and room type and the number of discounts available can actually change as occupancy goes up and down.

I just booked an AoA LM room for Oct. 22-24 at rack rate for a solo trip. I'm waiting for either AP or FL resident rates to come out. Those were pretty much the only available 2 nights from about 10/03-10/24.

Hi...just a quick question. we are DVC members so i don't usually book rooms or wait for ap/flr discounts. We are taking a short non-dvc trip 11/30-12/4 . if i go ahead and book csr and a discount comes out will they apply the discount or should i try to wait it out?

Thanks
Lori

The discounts are unlikely to apply to these rooms based on availability (or lack thereof).

If your planning to go even without the discount, then it doesn't hurt to go ahead and book the room you want. If there's availability in that resort/room then the discount will apply.

Still waiting :(

Anyone ever have any pushback related to this?

It's not an issue of pushback. cMs dont have discretion in this. It's strictly a question of availability. For each resort/room type Disney basically sets a limit on discounts based on a target occupancy number. If the number of bookings is below that number, the discount is available and can be applied to a new or existing reservation. If bookings go above that number, then the discount is no longer available to be added. If someone cancels, then it may become available again. It's all a numbers game. And the more popular your resort/room type, the lower your chance of a discount. Some resorts fill faster than others (POFQ, AoA, BLT) and within a resort the cheapest room types are more likely to sell out. That's why a lot of people end up upgrading their view or moving to CL to get the discount.

Thanks for this information Tltorrez. I went ahead and booked...but I admit it was very very painful putting down that deposit at rack rate :scared:

Here's hoping for a discount!

Just put my deposit down for a rack rate room in October at AoA. Hoping something comes out for our end of October trip!

Do discounts usually come out in the morning or can they come out at any time during the day?

I just called to make a change to my reservation and I asked the CM about ap rates...She said "You just have to keep checking, we only find out the day before"...So I guess tomorrow is out. I would think they want the BOG madness to die down before they do anything else, but this really should have come out before BOG went viral :)

CMs rumors are giving dates anywhere between the end of the month and mid-Sept for AP and FL. This has been pretty consistent for the past week. A couple CMs yesterday said "two weeks" which would be right after Labor Day. That would be my best guess. I wouldn't expect anything this week for sure. Was hoping for next week before the holiday but that's not looking too likely.

:coffee: waiting too ...

Are there usually any rooms with an ap discount for Thanksgiving week ????

Thanks

If I book with the AAA discount and then the AP or FL resident discounts come out (which are usually better) will they swpa discounts or will they have to cancel one reservatioin to make the new one (assuming availability of course)?

If there's availability they'll just apply it. As far I know they shouldn't need to cancel it.

I was just on the disney website checking my ressies for Dec. and notice new pictures in the rotation, one of them had a "save 30%" but nothing came up when i clicked on it ?? could it be that they are updating the next promotions:hyper: before the AP rates are coming out ?

Ack! I need to check this out right now!

Update at 12:33 couldn't get anything different to come up. I have my fingers crossed though.

I was able to click on it it, it's just the FD promo, military discount, and some golf discount. Bummer.

Question - when the release AP and FL discounts will it show up on the main page? I don't have access to the AP page yet.
