Fall 2008 PIs

Last friday? the internship im applying starts in june and it doesn't close til april 4th. when are the ones you are applying for? I am a gen bio major, but i have a lot of plant classes and have taken a lot of global environment classes.

I am applying for Epcot sciences-Plants science,Biotechnology and Aquaculture. For Animal Kingdom-Conservation of Education Programs/Guest Services/Animal Kingdom Lodge. When I applied for these positions, the deadline was March 7th for Epcot sciences, not really sure about DAK programs. I guess they extended the deadline, maybe b/c they need a certain number of applicants. I wouldn't have rushed everything, if I would have known the deadline was in april, Epcot sent me a email flyer stating everything had to be in by March 7th, oh well the earlier the better.

I have had my 1st and 2nd interview with DAK, the 2nd interview was a little tedious, I had 7-8 people asking me questions, but it went well and all the questions are not hard. I got email stating I should know by May 1st if I have internship at DAK. (So I'm just waiting now)The 1st interview is general screening interview. I have my 1st interview for Epcot Science on thursday. Let me know if you have anymore questions!!!

By the way since you are a bio major, you should do well with the biology internships at DAK. Pretty good chances, apply now though!!!

Yea, I think it would be cool. I guess aquaculture is in the Epcot Living Seas, its really neat, plus it has air conditioning!!! DAK has this program, as well you should apply for it

Do many people outside of these major apply for the animal programs? Im an animal bio/wildlife conservation major, would they chose someone in the direct major over someone else? Im just asking to plan for the future. I want to try and have as much of an advantage as I can.

DAK is really for you, they have quite a few internships relating to animal biology. I'm not sure if they would chose someone else over a direct major. I really think it is based on experience, and background in your field. Its hard to say b/c I have a very good background in all sciences from biology to physics so I'm all around person. They will ask about your background in the interview to see if you qualify. A good advantage would be to have good grades in all sciences (all academic really), resume and cover letter. DAK really asked for transcript from me and that was it, along with the resume.

From, what I have been hearing there preference are people with a science background, but since you are a animal bio major you are right on point and have very good chance. Start preparing now.

Just in case I don't get in to the program, this fall I applied for CP program (still waiting, b/c I changed my role) as well. I'll reapply for PI again in the spring. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I have not received anything, b/c at the last moment I changed my role. I spoke to my recruiter, about maybe 2 weeks ago about changing my role and she told me I had to fax and mail another rolechecklist, after they received the new checklist it would be another 2-3 weeks. This is my fault, so I'm a nervous wreck, I will mostly likely be in merchandising if accepted I work in retail for 3 years,during the interview I got alot questions about selling items.

Congrats, on your acceptance to CP program, I did check-off quick food as well. I really hope you take it,may not be that bad, plus you are working for disney, a new experience. But I do understand about working somewhere you worked in the past, I want something new like attractions.

So, I got my application online and will be sending it off tomorrow. Yipee!!

Did you guys do just normal priority mail, or did you do overnight or second-day delivery or anything like that? Just wondering.

I have noticed that a bunch of people talked about a online application that you needed to send back. The profile that I had created through Disney Careers for the internship, had the application listed that required me to update. I am guessing that everyone had this and the application that you got online, was a different one? Anyone noticed this?

The application that you are talking about is the one that I just talked about sending back in. For me, at least, there was no different application that I sent back in. (I hope this makes sense.)

I applied for a PI literally minutes before the deadline. Hopefully that won't hurt my chances - I didn't know if I wanted to apply since it would require me putting school aside again but finally decided I should apply anyways.

I applied Feb 18 and I didn't get my online app until today. Don't worry about it. You will have the interview first, and then if you qualify, they will send you the application (it will be on your workbench).

I got the email on Tuesday, March 11th and I had my first screening interview on March 4th.

I never had an interview for this time around and the application was already in my workbench. It gave me the option to update it. I think I might give them a call.

I didn't apply for it but I have heard they accept 30 interns.

I have my second interview on April 7th for Rooms and Related MI! I'm going to go down for a face to face interview! I could have done a phone interview but I think Face to face would be the best bet. what do you all think?
