FALCONS WIN THE SUPERBOWL!!!!

Falcons choked big time! As really say what you will about BB or Tom B but still both are clutch. As well as never count them out!

I wanted the Falcons to win so bad but the Patriots did their thing. Whatever was said in that locker room at half time shouldhave a patent and be sold. Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time. Hands down.

And even as a Pats fan I do agree that the overtime rules stink. It should be that each team gets a possession to attempt to score.[/QUOTE]

My guess is they are afraid the games would be too long if that was the rule. If the defense can't step up for that one series, then you are done. If they can hold them to only a field goal the game goes on. Your defense can't fail that time, that simple.

I'm a staunch Patriots fan...have been even when it was embarrassing to admit to that! And I was horrified for the first 3 quarters!!! Just couldn't figure out what was going on...figured that the Falcons wanted it more! But....I have to admit that I was hugely impressed by Atlanta!!! You can't take away the way they played that first half...Julio Jones is incredible!!!! Man, just an unbelievable player!
But...that last quarter was pretty mind blowing. I had my doubts right up until that quarter...this team plays with such heart that it's a bad idea to count them out until the final whistle. Did Tom Brady win the day? No. But..he is a terrific motivator. He gives credit where credit is due. He couldn't play alone in the first half and he didn't win alone in the second half. The Patriots fully realize that this is a team effort, but it sure doesn't hurt to have Brady at the helm!!!
I fully expect to see the Falcons back at the Super Bowl again....they are an amazing team.

Did anyone see the little caption that came up about a minute before the game ended? It said, "Patriots win the super bowl with winning touchdown." This was BEFORE the winning touchdown. WAs there a delay, or was that an accident?

I don't understand the ones who say they didn't deserve to win. They didn't win from bad play calling or pure luck. They came out when it mattered and played their hearts out. If anything the Falcons didn't deserve to win after blowing such a big lead.

Either way I think the Falcons played a great game and so did the Patriots.

LOL at some of these comments

The sacks were more of a result of NE's offensive line collapsing against the Falcons fast defense than Brady making big mistakes. Once the o-line got their act together in the 2nd half, Brady could focus on his part of the job.

Yeah, I didn't say it was due to Brady making mistakes. It was pretty obvious he wasn't getting much protection.

For me, I was left with that feeling because the Falcons didn't even get a possession in overtime. If it was the other way around and the Falcons had won the coin toss and scored a touchdown, I'm pretty sure Patriots fans would be feeling the same way.

If their play calling in the second half was better, they wouldn't have been in overtime.

I'd like to see them go back to the old overtime rules, at least in playoff and championship games. Set the clock for another quarter, toss the coin, and play until the clock runs out. Having said that..

YAHOOOOOO!!!!!!!! (which I'd do in larger type and color, with a jumping emoji, if I had those editing options here anymore...)

Personally had no horse in this race. Live in Lions' country -- so clearly I'd have no idea what to do with a horse in this race anyway!

I was surprised when the Falcons' owner came down to the sidelines so early. Really felt awkward when the game turned & the cameras would pan over to him. I'm guessing he will not leave his box until it's a certainty next time.

IMO Brady did do a good job. I have no perspective on GOAT. I think early in first quarter he was hitting some good passes to Edelman, but ATL seemed to work out the adjustment necessary to shut that down & the tide turned, particularly with the pick 6. Until that shift Brady was much more effective than Ryan. As someone who had zero preference in who won the game I will say that no matter how the game was going and what the score the announcers rarely let much time pass before the name Brady came off their lips. I can see where that could get to be a bit much.

I did think players from both teams showed a lot of classy moments. Didn't see a lot of in your face attitude from ATL when they were riding so high. Neither team seemed to be lashing out when the tide was flowing against them, which I would have expected from a team used to winning the big show and a team so hungry for their first bite at the apple. Saw things like a Patriot flat on his back in the bottom of a pile and a Falcon reach out a hand to pull him up. Love it when they play hard and don't waste anything in being butts. Can't help thinking how much my dad would have enjoyed seeing such a twisting, turning Super Bowl with an OT.

It was to explain the over time rule meaning the won with a touchdown (a winning touchdown since it was OT) and would force a Falcons possession if they only went for a field goal.

Brady played college ball in Lions country ;)

Yeah ...I mentioned that to everyone at our house -that's like popping the champagne before the last out. He was doomed at that point

I didn't notice that the Falcons owner went down to the sidelines early. Bet he won't make that mistake again!

If I'm not mistaken he was down there by late in the third. I felt bad when they kept flashing to him as the fourth ground on, and on . . . He looked like he realized his mistake, yet knew he had committed and had to hold his position. That had to sting even worse.
