FAKE TICKETS ?

Probably a generic comment about buying anything, here, tickets, on line, waiting for minutes in front of one mostly blank white screen after another showing only a little spinning beach ball, and in hindsight thinking it would have been quicker and more carefree to have gone to a brick and mortar seller en route i.e. the ticket booth between the parking lot and the park entrance.

I didn't think my savings to be small. The price of 10 day no expire hopper and wp and more tickets was approximately $46 each less then Disney's price. Multiply that by the number of tickets purchased and I think it was worth the 1-2 minutes it took me to place my order. UCT price $769.53, Disney price before the elimination - $816 and change.

I guess it is a matter of perception.

Exactly. I find it no hassle to order on line, and then open the package when my tickets show up. $50 saved easy peasy.

I purchased from them last spring and did have an issue but it was taken care of quickly and I will use them again in the future. Like the original poster I had paid for express delivery and the tickets did not arrive for more than 10 days. During the time they were absent UT credited me the charges for express delivery and provided an email with a scan of the tickets (allowed me to make my FP+ reservations which is what I really needed them for). Nothing but good things to say about the service and the price.

We just to a trip to DL a few weeks ago. I booked hotel and tickets through a third party. Luckily, everything was great. But had I been told one thing and it never happened, I would likely never recommend them to anyone.

Did the OP over-react? I can see why some would say that. But if this is a once in a lifetime trip, I can definitely see her frustration and stress and "over-reaction". I'm sure I would feel the same.

Whether it's a once in a lifetime trip or not, it's the consumer's responsibility to do at least minimal research before paying hundreds or thousands of dolars to an unfamiliar company.

I ordered something from Amazon on about the same date the OP posted. Since I'm a Prime member, I get free 2 day shipping and my packages have always arrived on time. It took a week for this package to arrive because of weather. From what I understand many people had late arriving shipments for the same reason.

When I called Undercover Tourist for the first time and asked about the price increase, the customer rep replied " Well, we are blessed that the prices just went up". I had no clue what she was talking about and assumed now is not a busy time because the prices just went up. Whether they are legitimate or not, I hate being lied to, not once, not twice but 3 times ! Each time I called, they said they would give me the ticket numbers but they never did. My kids were so excited about planning their fast passes this weekend, now I sit here fuming on a Friday night waiting for Monday to arrive to sort this out. It is a good thing we are not traveling next week. The money saved buying through a 3rd party is definitely not worth it. I hope it is the same Undercover Tourist company everyone got their tickets from. Now I am worried there is a scam site with the same name. We don't have the money to buy more tickets if these are fake. At least the hotel and flights are taken care of and we will go to Florida anyway :( let's hope these tickets are not FAKE !

I'm sure this has been resolved by now, however due to the amount of people replying I just want to assure you no matter how frustrating it may have been, UT is not a scam and they only sell valid NEW park tickets

Legit or not i would never buy from a third party. If you are worried about saving 50$ then i suggest you stay home and save your money, vacationing isnt for you.

Some of us are able to afford our vacation because we worry about where our money goes. $50 is 3 or 4 counter service meals. Or a couple of taxi rides. There is nothing wrong with buying tickets from an authorized ticket broker. It is when you go off the range and start buying them off of E-bay or at roadside counters that you run into problems.

or 50$ is a couple drinks before i go out to eat my filet minon. hey, to each their own.

But to each their own is not what you said. You told people to stay home if they were concerned about where $50 went. How about saying you wouldn't buy tickets from a 3rd party, but to each their own?

For me, in every day life, $50 is a bag of dog food. Or 2 tanks of gas. $50 is a large enough sum that I would miss it if I misplaced it.

Why on earth in 2015 do they still have to mail you paper tickets? Can't they just e-mail you a barcode and then the front gate can scan your phone?

Believe it or not, not everybody has a smart phone. I can think of 2 of my friends that don't right off of the bat. Plus, even though I have a smart phone, I'm not comfortable using it for tickets. Even for airline tickets. I know I can do it, I'm just not comfortable with it. Plus, can you imagine how many people would get to the parks and find their phones were dead? You would need another group of CMs to deal with that.

That's stupid.

Just because I can afford the full cost doesn't mean I wouldn't save some money if it's painless and easy.

Then print the barcode on a printer. Is this paper tickets a Disneyworld thing? I can't remember in the last ten years of buying tickets for Disneyland that someone has ever mailed me paper tickets.

Seems like paper tickets can be easily forged. I can't believe the piece of paper that anyone gets in the mail means anything unless Disney can look up the ticket number in their computer systems. In which case why even bother mailing the paper???

Because it's not a paper ticket. It's a plastic ticket with an RFID chip imbedded in it. The chip is what gets scanned when a guest enters the park turnstiles and at FP+ entrances at Disney World if the guest does not have a Magic Band (like most offsite guests). Okay?
