Hi everyone!

We head out tomorrow after a pre-cruise day at Magic Kingdom. We did Cinderella's Royal Table and my little guy received a fake souvenir sword during supper. Are these still banned or will we be able to pack it and bring it on board? He loves it and will be super disappointed to leave it behind :(

Thanks!

Brandy

It's still on the prohibited list:
Items prohibited on board ship and on Castaway Cay.
  • Firearms, ammunition, knives (including dive knives), swords, daggers and any other types of weapons
  • Toy guns or other replicas of firearms and weapons

Now, as to whether they will see it on the xray, and confiscate it - maybe.

+1 for seeing plenty of them on our last cruise in January as well (even adults). Saw lots of people posing with Captain Hook with them.

They sold them onboard still, so not sure if people brought them on or if they bought once on board.

Yes, we saw plenty being sold on the ship for Pirate Night as well. I think those Disney swords are an exception to the rule because they are so obviously fake that no one in their right mind would mistake it for an actual weapon.

Interesting, I always bring a toy sword for pirate night, I honestly never considered that they were banned! (Silly of me, it seems obvious in hindsight). That being said, it's very obviously a toy. I think they might be more on the lookout for the genuine looking items?

Just got off on the 26th. No issues having them packed in my suitcase. No negative comments from crew either.

We bought a small replica of a sword in Rome and brought it back on board. They examined it thoroughly and even tried to poke each other with it to see if it was actually sharp. They allowed it on the ship, and it wasn't even packed in our suitcase because it was from an excursion. We actually didn't even think about it until we were standing in line.

Time was they did allow toy weapons that didn't look "real". The change in wordage to say "Toy guns or other replicas of firearms and weapons" is fairly recent.

I had one of the swords from that dinner in a checked suitcase on the flight back from Orlando and was a little embarrassed to find a note that it had been opened and inspected by security.

Anyway, I am very curious about how you managed to get the reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table? I got one for 8 people in November by a complete fluke: I happened to be online in the middle of the night when it became available around 60 days in advance. It is the only time I have ever seen tables available at CRT and all the slots were taken by early morning. Did you book it with help from Club Level concierge at one of the Disney resorts by any chance? It was an amazing experience and I'd love to do it again.

ADRs start 180 days out.
