I live in south florida, so I decided to take a weekend off from work and go up to orlando to universal and islands. I bought an annual pass so that I can go to the parks each month. Before I got to orlando, I booked a night in the hotel "swan imperial", which is right next to wet 'n' wild. Let me start off by saying that this hotel was chosen mainly because it was the cheapest that I could find online. Cost me about 59 dollars for a night(with my AAA discount). The main lobby looked like the hotel could be somewhat nice, but once I got into the hallways where the rooms were, I noticed a mildew smell and it was also extremely hot in the hallways, almost as if the heat was on or something. After being in my room for a couple hours I started getting pizza fliers slid under my room door. DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM THOSE PLACES! They are places that steal your credit card information and purchase things with it, the pizza they deliver to you is low quality and is tasteless, half the time you don't get what you ordered, the delivery person always makes you meet them in the lobby of the hotel(they don't even deliver in a marked pizza delivery car), and they tell you it will take 45 minutes, when in reality it takes 2-3 hours. If you're going to order pizza, use a place that is well known.

We ordered from a place like that when we were at RPR last year but paid in cash and was wondering why they got mad when I refused to use a credit card and yes the food was bad and very cold and took two hours to deliver to us

Since this has nothing to do with Universal (theme parks or resorts), I'm going to move the thread to the Orlando Hotels & Attractions board.

More people who stay on I Drive will find this information useful.

Thanks for posting.
:thumbsup2

This is a prevalent problem at many offsite resorts in Orlando. Many resorts try to educate their guests by telling them not to order from these places, but some people must still do it or they wouldn't be around.

You would think the credit card companies would have a fraud alert on non-franchise named pizza charges in Orlando.

It is sad to see how many people are working so hard to steal other peoples money.

The fake pizza-delivery flyers end up in Disney hotels too. I noticed on our last trip there was a note on our bedside table about those scams and advising guests to order from well-known companies.

I guess I'm the oddball...whenever I stay offsite, I make it a point to order from these places. I've gotten lucky though, while I've usually had about an hour wait, I have always gotten hot and tasty pizza. My baby sister and I love it, and it is one of our Orlando traditions.

Yep.. we had a note in our room when we checked in to the Poly and CSR on our last trip in March. It advised not to ever give out CC info over the phone either.

Why order pizza when you have CiCi's on international drive;) Honestly everything seems to be a scam lately so much so I have no idea if I should trust using my card on my trip.

Yes, a friend of mine wanted to show me how much cheaper it was to stay at his timeshare in orlando than it was to stay at my hotel. We got a flyer or 2 each day from pizza places we never heard of. We never ordered from them but it was kind of scarey. We were also advised strongly from the timeshare management to throw away the flyers we got. My advise, don't order pizza from anywhere in orlando. Go out to eat at a good restaurant or cook it yourself in your condo. Lock your door at night!

Note: Drove to PapaJohn's on International Drive and waiting there for 45min to get 1 large pizza and they said they forgot to make it. Waiting another 20min they made us a grade C- pizza.... never again. Next time will go to disney for food.

When we were staying at the Homewood Suites on Idrive this summer they were shoving 4 to 6 of those things under our door each day. And they had a security person on site who was always trying to catch them doing that. We were there for about 10 days and started stacking them up after the 4th day or so, just to see how many we would end up with. We had over 30 on the day we checked out !
To make it worse those fake places use names that ressemble real chain names, like Romino's and Tony Boma's to get people confused.

The problem is they steal the CC information to make purchases at major online or retail establishments, not to charge you for your pizza. So the fraud alert really won't work to stop this.

thanks..i nevr thought about that..glad i read yr post,,.,,just got back from Atlantic city and there was a ton under our dr and on car..just thought they were being helpfull, delivering to our room,,.but now i see it's pretty dangerous letting somone inside hotel...

:thumbsup2 Any of the off-site hotels we've stayed at have either always mentioned not to order from these places, or have placed a note by the telephone in the room indicating the same thing

Ive always heard not to order from non well known companies but I never knew why. I guess this gives some in site. The place we stayed at in Tampa strongly urged from ordering food over the phone unless it was advertised by them. I always thought this was for advertising reasons though not fraud.
