Your budget looks great! You are doing SO much more with your money than I am!! We have similar budgets, but I only have 20 people--- so you're doing a fantastic job.

And with all the Anglophile and Tudor love here, we should totally all do a group DISBrides trip to England some day![]()
Absolutely! We went on Disney's Baltic Cruise in 2010 and it left from Dover.. now, if only we could charter the ship to just drop us off in England! We need a disney cruise that goes over the pond![]()
Thank you! I think you're doing great with your budget as well, girl!Your budget looks great! You are doing SO much more with your money than I am!! We have similar budgets, but I only have 20 people--- so you're doing a fantastic job.![]()
I love the Tudors!I watched the whole 4 seasons of the Tudors last month, most of it when I was off sick.
I'll meet you all at the airport with a big banner.

Quite acceptable!Awesome! We just finished up season two, and I've currently two books that I can't wait to start reading. I really need a speedreading class... lol
Faith! We're taking over your thread with all this Tudor/England talk!![]()
Quite acceptable!
I wish I could find the pictures from my most recent London trip-- I've got some at the Tower, some of me pretending I'm a Princess, some of me with "Dr. Watson".. that'd really fuel our fire.![]()
So sorry for "creeping" on your conversation with someone else, but I just wanted to say that I "lived" in England for 3 months when I studied abroad and it was amazing! I was in Oxford and I loved it.
Since I was living there I got to experience both the tourist side of things but also felt like I lived there, so that was really nice. Oxford was an amazing place, I would love to go back someday. I think that if I wouldn't miss my family so much I would move to England in a heartbeat.
I know the legal/visa issues can be pretty tricky. My friend has been living in France for over a year now but she gets so stressed with that stuff. Hopefully you can figure it out, that would be amazing to live in England for awhile!
Ok now I am the creeper. I love london and englad in general. I have only been once but I can not wait to go back! I love the feeling of the country and I would totally move there! I can't wait to go back I kinda wish we were going for our honeymoon.

I just had to comment! That sounds so beautiful, you seem to be in a great location! I've never been to England but I can picture it perfectly.![]()
Whew! Just got myself all caught up! Congrats on coming in under budget! I so desperately want a dessert party, but we're paying for this ourselves, and unless there's some sort of miracle money-wise... it's just not looking positive right now. Poo!

I'm so jealous. It's long been a dream of mine to go there, even before I became a history geek! There are so many places I want to visit - both historical stuff and places where my family is from - I think I'll need a month or four to see everything![]()

What books are they? Have you read Philippa Gregory, her books are great.
'Three Maids for a Crown' by Ella March Chase, about the Grey sisters (it was seeing 'Lady Jane' about fifteen years ago that sparked my interest), and 'Elizabeth I' by Margaret George (who wrote such a stunning novel about Cleopatra, I'm super duper excited to read this one).
I've read a good amount of PG's stuff, but I find it to be rather hit or miss. I really enjoyed 'The Constant Princess', since at that time I didn't know too much about Catherine of Aragon, but couldn't stand 'The White Queen'. Have you read any of Alison Weir's stuff? She's done both fiction and nonfiction, and she really brings people to life.
I'll have to check out your recommendations! I'm always on the hunt for good Tudor fiction!'Three Maids for a Crown' by Ella March Chase, about the Grey sisters (it was seeing 'Lady Jane' about fifteen years ago that sparked my interest), and 'Elizabeth I' by Margaret George (who wrote such a stunning novel about Cleopatra, I'm super duper excited to read this one).

Sorry Faith totally taken over your PJ, maybe we need another FB group for chatting about non wedding stuff!
Ummm heavens know where we'd end up with that group
My sweet girls - Isn't it funny how you all dream of coming over here to live and my lifetime ambition is to live in Florida (or the USA in general)? I guess the grass is always greener and all that!!!
So, when are you all coming?? I would love for that to come off, and I would be so excited to meet you all!!
Funnily enough, I am off to Paris on Wednesday. My DD, friend and I are having a little girly trip to that lovely city, and having two nights at DLRP too. Well, it's not Florida, but it will have to do. I am very excited to be spending some quality time with my girls!!
Tinkerbell007 - Thanks!! My cottage is sweet (although somewhat cold in the winter!!!). It looks particularly lovely at Christmas, as it has beams on the ceilings, which are perfect for hanging garlands and the like!!! I will try to post some pictures at some point - maybe wait until it is all decorated for Christmas. DS's girlfriend always says that the cottage reminds her of that Cameron Diaz/Kate Winslett movie 'The Holiday' - I know what she means!!
I loved 'The Tudors' too!! Although some artistic liberties were clearly taken, it was quite good on the historical accuracy side wasn't it? Excellent programme!!
It rained. How were the engagement photos?
