Ok gals - I've known about this site for awhile - but I decided to share :goodvibes

Need some uber-lovely shoes for your wedding? You can get your shoes (or theirs) covered in rhinestones or sequins (I prefer the rhinestones - gotta love sparkle! :wizard: ) - in any color you want. So if you need some Cinderella slippers, this is the place!

I'm totally buying some for my wedding - in aqua blue maybe - as soon as I'm engaged, lol.

(Yay I can post links & pictures now! :) )

I'm wondering if I'm crafty enough to do that myself.....

Hmmmm...I think I may try to accomplish that with an old pair of shoes just to see what happens. Off to the craft store to get stones to begin!

Haha, oh believe me, I've looked for rhinestones in large quantities - and they're impossible to find! I've seen them online, but they're ridiculously expensive (Swarovski - or else I only seem to find plastic stones :scared: ).

Hmm... maybe you could practice with the cheap plastic stones first though? If you really don't care about the outcome of the shoes, that is :) At least then you'd know if it was worth buying the real crystals!

its a littel different...but i used banded rhinstones for DDs mickey hat...see

i get my crystals from mjtrim.com you're right though, it's hard to find crystals in bulk that aren't expensive.

we glitterized shoes last year for my fiance's nightclub...i think we used sequins though, definitely not wedding worthy.

Those are gorgeous (although I don't see where you can order them in turquoise, which is the color I'd want too!).

One thing if you get the sequined ones - you have to be really careful not to let your feet touch each other. I have some sequined shoes and they got screwed up when they rubbed against each other....

I think that's where I'll start, then go for broke if it looks FANTASTIC! :rotfl: OR I may just let someone else have that headache! depending on the cost.

I LOVE    Isa's ear hat! it's fantastic! You did a great job with it!

I'm thinking I'll do a pair of heels for fun! For the wedding, since we'll be doing lots of walking, I plan on wearing flats. I'm probably going to do my flowergirl shoes too. So she can have some sparkle too!

I went to the website for M&J and WOW! the stones are not that expensive. Or at least I don't think they are...I can get 10 gros of flat back stones for a little more than 50 dollars. When you look at the fact that 12 stones are 7 bucksl...the math works out well. I'm going to buy the siam swarovski stones in 4mm to try out a snazzy pair of heels...then when my dress comes in, I'll match the color of stones to the dress for my flats.

Thanks romymichelle for sharing that link! :dance3:

They changed the Fairydust Shoes website a lot (if that's what you're referring to) since I first saw it a couple years ago! They had a lot more pictures of shoes in different colors, and a Swarovski color chart. In fact, I think I have one on my computer here somewhere... here we go! :woohoo: For reference for everyone!

No prob! :) Something made me think of the ruby slippers from Wizard of Oz last night, and I remembered that I knew of a site that made those and any other kind of sparkly shoes you could possibly want - so my first thought was, "I bet the girls on the DIS wedding boards would love these!" :woohoo:

(I really like that dancing smiley dude - so if ya'll see me use him a lot...)

I had similar shoes for my prom way back when. :) We had white shoes died red and took glue that dried clear and one by one, :) we put red sequnces on them and I had a short red dress. everyone was like look at her shoes! I still have them yet I they don't fit they are 1 size to big. But I will be making more for my wedding...as those are out of my price rang! and I won't feel bad wrecking them while i dance. :)

I just had to hop on and tell you what a fantastic job you did on these for your daughter! I remember you posting these photos a while back but they still take my breath away! That is funny that you ended up wearing them instead of your daughter! I would have done the same thing! :rotfl: Heck, I probably would have worn them the entire time! Just gorgeous!!!!! :thumbsup2
