Hello everyone!

I am here coming to you with my ultimate wish. I have wanted to be a Disney Fairytale Wedding Planner for the past 7 years. I FINALLY got the time to apply for the internship this past Spring and was rejected within a week. I am competent, hard working and now have a wedding planning internship under my belt. My intention is to apply for the position again this fall. I am curious as to if anyone here has a connection with the Disney wedding planners, past experience, or advice to give me on how I can achieve my goal.

I would appreciate this more than you can imagine.

I hope everyone is having a magical day! Thank you so much for your help!

i don't, i'm sorry. i'm sure, like most disney areas, it's highly competitive. do they/would they give you any feedback as to what would make you more marketable? maybe "wedding experience" proper is less important in a way because of the niche market they hold?

good luck!!:goodvibes

If it's a professional internship, you have to be a College Program alumni to be eligible.
Try applying for two or three related internships. Marketing and networking is everything when working for disney, so even if you're just planning conventions it will make you a more suitable candidate for wedding planning since you would already have experience within the company.
HTH!

I have called them to ask but the person who I contacted didn't have much to tell me. I think she might have been in a hurry or wanted to keep the phone lines open for the brides (which is understandable) but it was basically a two minute conversation.

Thanks! I will certainly apply for conventions next time around as well!

Our planner began her career working in one of the souvenir shops on Main Street. I don't have any personal experience but I've heard that with Disney it's a very "work from the bottom up" type of company.

Thanks for the article link. Its nice to learn more about my planner. :)

Yes, it was interesting to put a face to a name!

Thank you so much for the link! It helped a lot and gave me a great idea of what I should try to get into!

Ps, If I get the job one day I will most certainly do that!!! :)

Good luck on your job search and yes, convey that us DCL brides need some magic too :hippie:
