Fairy GodMAW Grants Princess Bella's WISH! Update 12/2 - One more sleep til Disney!

Stefani, I made a simple tulle canopy for Piper two yrs ago..if you'd like directions to do it, just let me know..it cost me less than $30 for the fabric.

Sorry to hear your party is hitting a few snags but Im sure it will all turn out perfect.
Sounds like Bella's room is coming along congrats on your purchases and continue checking craigslist they always come up with good deals. :)

This isn't necessarily related to our trip or planning, but it is Disney and I wanted to share it with all of you.

After learning that a nearby High School would be presenting one of our favorite musicals, Beauty and the Beast, Bella's girl scout leader contacted the director to see if we coud do something special for our Daisy Scouts. She mentioned Bella's upcoming Make A Wish trip and the director was excited to hear of Bella's love for princesses. :lovestruc

Yesterday afternoon, we took our Daisy troop to see the matinee performance. It was amazing. The talented cast put on an incredible show and the girls were transfixed by the magic and music.

Here is Bella, waiting excitedly for the show to start. As you can see, she wore her Belle gown. This gown (and several others) were generously given to us by a DISer who's children had outgrown them. The other gowns will be used to create a dress up area in Bella's princess bedroom makeover. Thanks so much to DISer 2Princess3Princes for the Belle costume!

After the show, and much to my surprise, the director announced that there was a special guest, Bella, in the audience, and explained that Bella would soon receive her Wish to see the princesses in Disneyworld. The entire audience erupted in applause as Bella was invited to join the cast by the stage. I, on the other hand, was overcome with tears of joy. Even with tears in my eyes, I could see the excitement in Bella's face. I wish I had a photo of this amazing moment but as I was caught off guard, my camera was not ready. However, it will be etched in my memory forever.

Bella was then presented with a framed photo of the cast as well as a Beauty and the Beast sweatshirt. The rest of the Daisy troop was then also invited up and they all received sweatshirts as well!

After the presentation, the girls and cast gathered in the commons area. The Daisy girls were able to meet the cast and we all posed for lots of pictures. The cast was so sweet to our girls.

We then enjoyed a snack of cookies and punch. While we mingled, Bella posed for more pictures and greeted many other audience members. It was a great evening and Bella was treated like royalty.

Here Belle and Bella chat as they walk over to the snacks together. Isn't this precious?

Unfortunately, Bella seems to be getting sick again. You can tell in the last few pictures that she isn't feeling well. But she was still trying so hard to have a good time.

Exhaustion won out on the 15 minute ride home as Bella took a short nap. When I took her temp after we got home it was 104.6! After a dose of motrin and a small dinner, Bella headed off to bed. And despite being ill, last night Bella was comforted while sleeping with her new photo of the cast and Beauty and the Beast sweatshirt.

Those pictures are so sweet! That was so nice of them to include Bella and all the girls. Im sorry Bella got sick though, hope she's better soon.

I may need to get the directions from you. I am still having no luck finding a canopy. Thanks for the offer. I will let you know.

We should hear today as to whether the party is pizza or bowling. I don't want to be picky, but the more I think about it the more Stonefire Pizza seems like a more appropriate place. Oh well, I'm sure whereever the party is held at it will be wonderful!

Thanks. I am so touched by the generosity of the cast and director. I want to do something special for all of them but my idea factory seems to be on strike lately!

Bella is feeling better. We actually sent her to school this morning. Normally, with a fever I wait 24 hours but Bella got upset when I suggested she stay home. She woke up without a fever and insisted on going to school. She even wore her new hoodie, which matched all of the other Daisy scouts that wore theirs as well!

What an INCREDIBLE evening!!!

I hope Bella is feeling better?!?

I am so glad that they did such a great job in recognizing her. :thumbsup2

What a sweet evening for you all- but especially for Bella! How awesome of the cast to invite her to be part of such a special time! I"m sure it's something she will always remember.

OMG THATS GREAT!!! what a sweet little girl and how awesome that is what they did!:woohoo:

She looked just precious!

It's completely cool what they did for Bella and her Daisy troop! She looked like she was having an awesome time! Hope she's feeling better

Just stopping by to say hi!:wave2:

How exciting for Bella to see Beauty & the Beast. It was awesome for them to recognize her and her Daisy troop too!

I'm glad the bedroom plans are coming along. I can't wait to see the finished room! :wizard:

Bella was feeling better by Monday morning. She woke without a fever and actually became upset when we suggested she stay home. So we sent her to school, wearing her new Beauty and the Beast sweatshirt. Most of the other Daisys wore theirs as well.

The cast was amazing. I'm certain they were all exhausted from a weekend full of theater but they stuck around for pictures. Bella is still talking about it today to anyone who will listen!

She looked just precious!
I found the young lady (Belle actress)on Facebook and sent her a message because I wanted to share the pictures with her. She replied thanking me for the 'opportunity' to meet Bella. She had seen Bella's magazine article a couple weeks ago! I hope all this fame doesn't go to Bella's head! Bella is already a celebrity in her own mind!
It's completely cool what they did for Bella and her Daisy troop! She looked like she was having an awesome time! Hope she's feeling better
I was so touched. And she is feeling better. I was so sad when she spiked that fever. It was kind of bizarre as it was hard to control the fever that evening but she was perfectly fine when she woke up the next morning. :confused3

Bella said to me this morning "Mom, our countdown is almost NAKED!" :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: She's right - it is looking quite bare! We have just 23 days to go!!!!:cool1::yay::dance3:

Day 4 - December 6th
Crowd Level: 5 Best Park: AK Worst Park: EP HS

Sunday was originally slated as a day of rest for us. With 3 extra days built into our vacation, I planned to hang out at Give Kids the World Village and explore all it had to offer. However, several opportunities have arisen in the mean time and now our 'day of rest' includes quite a few exciting plans!

SLEEP IN!
8:30ish Breakfast @ GKTW
10AM - Bass Fishing Excursion at WDW Seven Seas Lagoon
LUNCH @ GKTW
NAP? I hope!
2:00PM Twinkle Hope's Tea Party - GKTW Castle of Miracles
AFTERNOON SOMETIME - GKTW Air Adventure
4:00-12:00 - Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
DINNER??? GKTW? Drive Thru on the way to MVMCP? or Magic Kingdom - counter service?
7:45 A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show (other times: 8:45, 9:50, 10:45, 11:45 PM)
8:50 - Belle's Enchanted Christmas (other times 7:30,, 9:55, 11:00)
9:30 Wishes Fireworks
10:30 Christmas Parade (other time - 8:15)
11:20 Celebrate the Season Show (other times - 7:45 10:05)

Bass Fishing Excursion - On our first trip to WDW in Jan 2007, Grandpa put us all on the deluxe dining plan. Because of this, fishing and all water rentals were included in our stay. On two occasions during that trip, we chartered a bass fishing excursion early in the morning. The first time we took AJ, and the second time we took Kennedy. Now I personally am not a big fan of fishing. In fact, slimy, smelly fish disgust me. However, it was 'included' so we figured why not :confused3 Also, our wonderful guide baited my hooks AND took the fish off for me! Now that is my kind of fishing! Bella was not yet 3 years old and recently diagnosed with epilepsy at the time of that trip so we didn't bring her fishing. Here is a video of our previous fishing trip at WDW! On a side note, this video was originally set to "Fishin in the Dark" by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, but stinkin YouTube claimed copyright infringement:headache: so I had to change the music. The current song is kinda lame. Feel free to turn down the volume. Ahhhh . . . . the memories . . . :cloud9:

Fast forward to present day. When discussing the trip with Grandpa and Grandma, Grandpa asked if we would be going fishing this trip. I said no because of the cost. Grandpa offered to pay and I declined (he is very, very generous and offers to pay for many things - but I try not to take advantage of his generosity). Then we discussed the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package. As this was something that Grandma REALLY wants to do, Grandpa again offered to pay for it. This time, I agreed, but then he put a stipulation on it! He would pay for the CP package only if I also let him pay for a bass fishing excursion. And that is why we are going fishing on Sunday morning!

GKTW Air Adventure - This is a new activity offered to guests staying at GKTW so I really don't have much information on it but if someone has recently gone and can fill me in, I'd love to hear more. Apparently Wish Kids and 2 guests (will likely be DH and I since at least one adult must go and we simply couldn't choose between AJ and Kennedy. Is it terrible that I am excited to be able to go by default?) will be able to take a 45 minute flight above Orlando. We will see WDW, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Give Kids the World from an airplane! Mauiva Air Tours will provide this incredible experience for us! I hope to schedule something for the afternoon on Sunday.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - We already have our tickets for this event, courtesy of the Make A Wish Foundation :worship: I am so excited as I have heard only wonderful things about MVMCP. However, I have never been and really don't know what to expect. Our arrival at MVMCP depends on the flight at GKTW and our dinner plans.

I have no concrete plans for dinner that evening. We have 3 choices - we could:
  • eat at GKTW. Pros: free. Cons: would need to leave later for MVMCP (can get in as early as 4PM)
  • go through a drive thru on the way to MVMCP. Pros: inexpensive Cons: it would likely be McD's and well, nuf said.
  • counter service at MK. Pros: arrive early at MVMCP Cons: likely most expensive

It appears that there are cookies and cocoa available throughout the MK during MVMCP so I don't plan to purchase any additional snacks.

In addition to the scheduled events listed above, the following are other rides and attractions that we would like to do at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party -

1. Character Dance Parties (there are no times for these? are they random?)
2. Adventureland - PotC, MCoA, and Swiss Family Treehouse (take pictures of MK adorned in lights from the highest place in the treehouse)
3. Frontierland - Splash Mtn. BTMRR - both of these have 40' height restrictions. Bella is about 39ish but I will be putting her in small heels and pray they let her on. Where is the best place to sit in Splash Mtn to AVOID getting wet?
4. Liberty Square - Haunted Mansion - hoping for a 'ghost' photopass photographer. Are PPPhotogs even out during MVMCP? Is the ghost seasonal?
5. Fantasyland - PPFlight, CGCarrousel (must let Bella ride Cindy's horse), Dumbo, Mickey's Philharmagic, Snow White, Pooh, Tea Cups, Small World. Obviously we will be spending a lot of time here. I am thinking we should hit this area first. I also want a Sword in the Stone picture and photos of the castle from behind.
6. Tomorrowland - AstroOrbiter, Space Mtn, Tomorrowland Speedway, Space Ranger Spin (mulitiple times, until I will beat DH at least once!), TTA (likely Bella and I while DH, DD10, and DD8 ride SM), Monsters Inc Laugh Floor
7. Toontown - Barnstormer (multiple rides, Bella favorite), Mickey and Minnie's houses
8. Main St. USA - Pictures of the castle, all lit up. Hoping for a PPPhotog to take our family picture as well. Possibly for use on our Christmas Cards!

Unfortunately, with our tickets to MVMCP, we will be missing the World's Largest Candyland Game at GKTW on Sunday evening. :guilty:I am disappointed as I have heard wonderful things about this party. I am thinking it would not be worth the trip back to GKTW in the middle of MVMCP, am I wrong? I will keep in mind that when we return to WDW, and we will return to WDW someday, we are able to return to GKTW and enjoy this event another time - but that may be years from now!

What else do I need to know about MVMCP? I have been searching recent trip reports for MVMCP details but I haven't found one yet. Are there any out there? :confused3

We do have one more full day at MK later on this trip. Am I being too ambitious? Will Bella's MAW pin still get us front of the line access during the party or will we wait in lines (albeit shorter) like other guests? How big can I expect the lines/crowds to be at one of these events?

Your plans look awesome!

If it was me...I would probably do Counter Service at the MK. You could honestly probably split some meals - depending on how much your kids eat. The portion size tends to be really big.

And I love a Casey's hot dog! :cloud9:

If she is in heels...they may make her take off her shoes altogether. I would maybe put her in some Tennis Shoes that have a high heel - but maybe don't quite look like they do.

Or stuff them with toilet paper.

I am not playing about getting Wish Kids on the rides. :sad2: I know Disney has to obey the rules.....:rolleyes1

Try this link for info. about the party: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2236819

We are going in 3 days and when I come back I will write lots about the party! :santa:
I have only made it halfway through that thread and already comiled an entire page of tips for MVMCP! Thank you so much for the link! I am looking forward to reading your TR when you return!

Good tip on the heels. I will keep that in mind when selecting her shoes. She will be so bummed if she can't go on those rides, especially BTMRR! A neuropsychologist once told me when Bella was 2 that she was a thrill seeker. Gee, do you think? :confused3 The child is fearless.

I like the counterservice at MK idea. We could snack before we leave GKTW and then splitting meals wouldn't be an issue at all I'm sure.

The plane ride sounds fun but I'm nervous it will scare Phoebe because of the noise. I will be anxious to hear your take on it.
Love, love, love the musical night. What a wonderful group to make it so special fro her.

Um, I was thinking we had a little over 3 weeks until our trip. My last post even claimed just 24days left until we leave! Yesterday evening I found the 21 from our countdown calendar laying on the kitchen floor. I brought all the girls in and questioned them as to who gave them permission to remove the number ahead of time. That's when Kennedy and Bella both told me that Daddy told them to do it. :confused3 Why would he take them off ahead of time? Preemptive strike? Hmmm . . .probably not. Then AJ chimed it - um, mom you do realize that we only have 2 weeks left, right?

WHAT?!?!?

PANIC MODE IS SETTING IN!

I don't have 3 weeks left, I only have 2 weeks left to go! Where in the world did that other week go?!?!

14 more days. I haven't even started packing! Even worse, I haven't even started planning the packing!

I still have a surprise bedroom makeover to arrange!

Next week is THANKSGIVING!

We still need to pull off a Wish Party!

Soooooooooooo many things to do and so little time!

My panic mode officially starts TODAY!

Ok first of all RELAX! It will all get done and it will be amazing.
Then there's the other side of me that says What! 2 weeks left, get to packing NOW!! :rotfl: odviously thats my obsessive side.
But really it will all be fine, and 2 weeks left :cool1: I cant believe the kids were'nt letting you know every day!

Aw!

Bless you.

Make a list... cross each thing off as you go...you will feel much better!

And...not be totally crazy...but add something to the list........

seriously...

REST - Make sure you make some time in there to rest - the trip is going to be fantastically exhausting and starting it exhausted is not my idea of a good time. ;)

I am super excited about the plane ride! Seeing MK and the other parks from the air is going to be incredible. I wonder if they would have noise cancelling earphones that Phoebe could wear? I will definitely report back!

DH and I will be packing this evening. Besides jeans, we have no need for most of the clothes we will be packing. The girls, well that's another story. I feel so unprepared for them. Fortunately, when swapping out winter and summer clothes last month, I did set aside all Disney related clothes. They are together in a box downstairs and I will go through those tomorrow afternoon. It's a start at least!

K, I'll add it to the list, but please note it is at the bottom of the list right now! I just need to get started, then I can take a deep breath.
