Just went to put some money on my FairFx card so I could pay some more of Disney balance in $$s (I get a better rate and it saves the commission!) and saw a message saying:

We are currently experiencing problems with the systems processor for our prepaid cards, a global company called FIS. All FairFX systems are operating normally however we are reliant on our processor to process card transactions and all their functionality is currently down.

FIS are the processor for many other card issuers and for both VISA and MasterCard – it is not only FairFX cards that are being affected. Obviously, we are pushing FIS to rectify this problem as quickly as possible but it is out of our control. FairPay and Cash orders are still working normally because, as previously stated, FairFX systems are operating normally. We hope FIS rectify the situation soon and in the meantime can only apologies for any inconvenience caused.

The same is repeated on their Facebook page and they do seem to be answering questions on there!

I only had $2 on my card, but whilst I can log in it now shows balance as 'Unknown'

Note: I am sure this is just a software glitch - after all we saw the trouble Natwest have just had, but I wanted to let people know incase they want to monitor the situation.

Hopefully it will be resolved shortly and is not affecting anyone out there wh will be unable to make transactions.

Eek, it better be a software glitch. I put all my DD's saved money for our trip into FairFX this year. She asks me to change it every time she has saved £50 so there is about $250 of hers in there at the moment.

Just done a bit of research and there company that manages all their 'technology/systems' is FIS, they are doing very well financially so I don't think that is a problem.

I found an article on the Wall Street Journal that identified FIS software as being at risk for their data protection and security (not financial stability) this would probably explain the systems update that took place last week to increase security. Often when updates happen things can be a bit glitchy.

I am always a positive person and have every confidence it will be resolved quickly - at least you do not need access to that money now as it seems you would not be able to get it (rather like Natwest again).

Keep an eye on their Facebook page 2Tiggies as they seem quite honest about their being a problem and making updates on there.

Yes, I just saw the status and asked them what exactly it means. Didn't realise you were on FB Zoe :)

All appears to have been resolved- thankfully only a few hour glitch

Thank you for the update. I posted in haste earlier and in panic. I just can't have any other financial surprises thrown at me this month so I was a bit super sensitive :lmao: But thank you so much for both updates - reporting the problem, the reassurance and for letting us know it's all fixed :goodvibes xx
