Fairfield Orlando at Star Island ?

This resort is located on Avenue of the Stars. Has anyone ever stayed here or have any info on it. I am considering purchasing timeshare here. Any info would be appreciated. TIA!

It's an ok resort, but it is not a totally managed FF resort. There are at least two POAs at this resort. Make sure that it is indeed a FF unit/points. As with any Florida timeshare maintenance fees tend to be a bit higher and property taxes are not included. One nice thing though is if you purchased here you will trade through II, so the DVC resorts are always a possibility. (There is no Orlando block for DVC when trading FF points.) Also, you can use your points (assuming it is a points contract you will be purchasing) at any other FF resort. With FF the points contracts have the most flexibility.

Thank you so much for your input. I am still learning all there is to learn about timeshare and always finding something new. I was really interested in the Sheraton Vistana but have not been able to get anything yet on ebay. Maybe I should keep looking. I appreciate you taking the time to help out. FF is a great system and with 4 resorts in the DW area, you can always find availability (even last minute if you stick with it). If you buy any FF points contract you have easy access (with no external exchange fees) to many resorts. Check FF website for a complete listing of all the resorts. Bonnet Creek is a very nice resort and you can book it with Star Island points ownership.

No! No! No! Please don't buy here. DH & I purchased SI and when we actually spent an entire week there we were horribly unhappy. They are not Fairfield Managed....which is a HUGE disadvantage. Most CSR's of Fairfield on the phone will stress that fact....I think, hoping people will avoid staying there.

In April we switched our timeshare over to Bonnet Creek. We are absolutely in love with it! Thanks everyone. I was finally outbid and won't rebid on the timeshare. I think I need to do a little more investigation. I wondered why it was so cheap, but I guess now I know why. I appreciate all your input and help. Thanks!
