We are going to Universal for a quick trip in a couple of weeks. I have booked both of these hotels, and need to decide which one to cancel. Location is equivalent, price is exactly the same. Has anyone stayed at both and can compare them for me? Or can anyone give me their experiences with either one? The Fairfield is on Vineland and the Amerisuites is on Caravan Ct. (both across from US). Please help me make a decision! Thanks.

We've stayed at the Amerisuites and loved it. We got it on a 2.5* bid through Priceline for $28/nt. They have a free deluxe continental breakfast which my daughters loved, the rooms are not an actual suite but have a half wall separating the sleeping and living areas. In the living area they had a sofa sleeper, chair, coffee table, desk with chair, table with four chairs, small dresser and wet bar area that included a micro, small refrig. and small sink. Above the wet bar area were cabinets with dishes, glasses and silverware. The pool area is a little small and we did have trouble finding clean towels there each time we wanted to swim but we easily got them from the front desk. Not a major problem, just a slight inconvenience. We'd definitely stay there again.

Thanks for the reply. It will just be my husband and I and we are planning all our dinners at Citywalk, so we really don't NEED all that comes with the suite, but the extra room will be nice. I had booked Fairfield Inn first, but was able to get the Entertainment rate at Amerisuites, bringing the price down to exactly the same. Fairfield is just a regular room, but I have heard some good things about it. Does anyone have experience with this Fairfield Inn?

I am not impressed with Fairfield Inn's which is the lowest property in the Marriott chain. they are very basic and the room tend to be small. I stayed with my sister in a FI and I felt like we were tripping over each other. Also having a small fridge that comes with the AS might be nice. Most meals you will have at CityWalk are huge, being able to bring home leftovers for the midnight munchies or a snack the next day may be welcome.

We have stayed at both of these specific hotels. We have stayed at four different AmeriSuites hotels and found this one to be tired. For the right price we would stay there again, I mean it's certainly not an awful experience but it is showing signs of wear. This particular Fairfield Inn on the other hand is the newest hotel built in that area and was very pleasant. Everything was very clean and we had a very pleasant stay. Both hotels offered deluxe continental breakfasts although AmeriSuites might have been just a bit larger. You do get a microwave and refrigerator at AmeriSuites which you don't get at the Fairfield Inn.

Not sure I was much help:(

I have just booked the FI for 3 nights in Feb 05. I paid for a suite which has a seperate sitting area, two televisions, fridge, microwave and cd player. I booked in the UK as it was cheaper than any site in the US. I paid just £36 a night, which is $63 for a suite. It has had good reports in tripadvisor and comes with breakfast. We are really looking forward to staying there.

Thanks for the replies. I have cancelled the Fairfield Inn (before I read your post, Figment) I just feel that I am getting a better deal with the suite. More room, plus I heard that the brekfast is better. I hadn't even thought about refrigerating or reheating leftovers, those amenities WILL be helpful. Again, thanks for the replies.
