Just back from a week at the Fairfield Cypress Palms through Skyauction.

I was very impressed with the resort and I actually think I enjoyed it more than Vistana because it was smaller, quieter and there were restaurants within walking distance.

We had a one-bedroom unit which was fine for 3 of us. I did try and call and request an upgrade to a deluxe one-bedroom but the resort was sold out. I considered my self very lucky to have what I had for a $1 bid plus fees!

They did offer us $75 Disney dollars, $60 cash or Universal tickets to come and have the breakfast and talk which we declined.

The drive to Disney was simple and quick and there is a Publix nearby and a brand new Walmart Supercentre which was open all hours.

I honestly think it is quicker for us to stay off property and drive in then try to get up and all get ready in one room and then eat and get to the parks. We downloaded all the early opening days from this site and took it with us. The parks were very busy but we were able to see everything by incorporating Fastpass.

Stayed at the Portofino Bay, conceirge on night which was incredible and fully plan on going back in March.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

We are going to stay here using a friends points. I'm glad to hear they didn't pressure you to do the sales thing. We are getting a 2 bdrm because there is 5 of us. We are only staying one night - but from what I hear that one night may spoil us! Did you find check in to be smooth and fast? We have plans for a dinner show the night we check in there so I'm hoping it moves fast.

Glad to hear you had a good stay!

Why did you take the schedule for the parks early morning hours? When you stay offsite, you cannot go in for that extra morning hour?

I'm betting she took that schedule so her family could avoid the park that had the early/late hours...since each individual park is usually the most crowded on the day(s) that it offers the early/late extra hours.

Also...if anyone wants to know anything about Fairfield Cypress Palms, Star Island or [Bonnet Creek (on Disney property)] don't hesitate to PM me. We own over 1,000,000 points with Fairfield and I'll be staying at a combination of these resorts from the end of September until Thanksgiving while attending the Food and Wine Festival daily.

Can't wait! :hourglass

Soccamom, go to SkyAuction.com and select an offering that's listed for a full week (not a nightly stay) at a resort that interests you. Click on the links to see if the dates offered would work for you. Then you may simply bid.

Decide in advance the maximum price that you would be happy to pay. Remember that they will add their fee to your bid price, so include that in your plan. Start very low and bid up, especially near the end of the auction time period. If you win it, you simply reserve your date and you're charged. Cancellation is not usually permitted with these kinds of companies. But the deals can be excellent. Note that daily housekeeping service is not included with a weekly deal but they are fully furnished condos.

Kimba, we stayed at Fairfield Cypress Palms for a week, a year ago February and found check-in to be quick and easy. Hope it is for you too. Take advantage of the free coffee/cocoa/cappucino dispenser in the lobby. I think the recreation building at the opposite end of this small resort also provides free coffee and popcorn. The rec bldg has plenty of board games and pool toys - all for free usage (sign them out to your room).

Like the OP, we thought we would prefer the larger resorts (we've stayed at several). But we had a great stay at Fairfield Cypress Palms! Every room is a short walk to a nice pool & playground area (there are two). The rooms are lovely, fully equipped and well-appointed. We'd definitely go back. You'll love the 2BR!!! Enjoy your stay! :)

Hi Everyone:

Check-in was quick and efficent at the Fairfield. The resort is not large and there is plenty of staff
Yes, the schedule I used was avoiding all parks with early entry and late opening too. Believe it or not this does work but you have to be at the park 40 minutes early like the Unofficial Guide says to get in and get to the recommended rides in the Unofficial Guide.

I paid ALOT more for Vistana last year on Skyauction and really we would have been happier at the Fairfield. To be able to get up in the morning and walk to the Cracker Barrel for breakfast would have been wonderful!

I find this site invaluable for making my decisions on Skyauction properties. There is no way I would have chosen this property otherwise. But the comments were exactly correct.

Duhhh sorry I am a true blonde... I didn't think of that  It makes sence now that you have said it.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Fairfield. We have over 1 million of their points also, although for Orlando, we usually stay onsite.

Hi,

Where is the Fairfield located. Drive time to parks?

herc.

Fairfield Cypress Palms is on 192...aka Irlo Bronson Hwy...near milemarker 10 I think (maybe it's milemarker 11). It's right across the highway from "the big orange" (a big fruit/juice/candy etc. mart...has a huge rounded orange roof...featured in movies sometimes...)

It takes me less than 15 minutes to exit my door at Cypress Palms and be standing at the tram stop at MGM, having parked the car. WDW transportation takes longer than that! It helps that the street across from the resort (Polynesian Isle) is a shortcut to Disney.

we were there for 10 days from in june and it was great. Check in and check out was fast and simple. It took us about 15 minutes to get the parking lot of each park every day.

Thanks for this great post. It is so timely for us. We just got a gowithfairfield certificate number for a free 2 night stay (no timeshare presentation, this was a contest prize, but we may attend the timeshare if disney $ are offered):dancer:. I'm not sure which Fairfield we will get or if our dates will be approved, but I'm glad to hear a good report! :flower:

No, minijeanie, this is a timeshare resort by Fairfield Communities. You may be thinking of the Fairfield Inn hotel chain by Marriott. Completely different. :flower:
