Fairfield and other Timeshare Locations

There are seemingly hundreds of kiosks scattered all over Orlando representing the various timeshares available, but exactly where would I go to find one representing a specific property? I'd like to look into the Fairfield Bonnet Creek location, and maybe Marriott's Horizons. Since I'm going to be looking anyway, might as well find one of the places offering a reward for my time.

I don't need the accomodations offered when you go to the respective timeshare websites, but the ticket offers (or whatever) they give you in Orlando would be nice. So, where can I find a kiosk for Fairfield? Or maybe info on what offers are available and from whom.

Is there a better way to set up a tour?

I think I would avoid those kiosk places like the plague...if you are really interested in a particular resort, I would call directly. Others may have better suggestions, but I wouldn't go through "off-site" timeshare tour things, I would think they only do the low-end timeshare tours. And my other big piece of advice -- buy resale!

we toured there last summer. Just stopped in but my sister had just become a Fairfield member. Rep's name was Ruth H., I'd stop in & ask at desk to see what they can set up for you. It is beautiful, we are staying there next month.

In general, the DIS'ers recommend buying a resale for the Orlando timeshare market. The sponsor of the DVC board here is "The Timeshare Store" and they are hignly recommended by members here.

Another tip is to buy your timeshare somewhere else you might want to travel because it is very easy to trade into Orlando properties. There is a glut of timeshares in the Orlando area.

Even if you buy resale (which I'd recommend, too!) you still want a chance to tour and see the place. Might as well take advantage of the promotions!
The best way is that if you know of anyone who owns at Fairfield or Marriott (even if their "home" isn't in Orlando area) to refer you. They would make a quick call and give them your email/phone numbers, etc. and then someone from the location would contact you. It gets you an in, they will already know that they can't entice you with a free or cheap stay, and typically, it gives bonus credits to the owner for the referral. Different places have different programs.
If you don't know anyone who owns, I'd call the resorts you're interested in directly. Tell them you're thinking about visiting a number of timeshares, try to get them to "talk you into" the visit and ask what kind of promotions/incentives they have right now.

One of the things I like about Fairfield is that they are points, and you have a lot more flexibility with using points rather than "weeks". But, the Marriott properties are great!
