Due to the stupidly cheap flights that are available from Oz to LA at the moment, DF and I are considering making another trip in May.

It would only be for 12 days this time, and I'd say 8 of those days would be spent with DF's family in CT.

I'm thinking we'd be arriving on the 8th of May, and leaving on the 21st. Am I right in thinking that we'd be better off doing Disney on the 19th, 20th and 21st? As apposed to the 8th, 9th and 10th?

Is anything going on at that time to make the crowds stupid? Is it busy enough to need to read up on touring disney in busy times? When does the calander usually go up for May?

What else am I forgetting?

The 25th is Memorial Day, and last year, the Monday holiday was quiet, but the weekend leading up to it was packed and crazy (that's what I heard...we got there on Monday and had a lovely time). So you might get some people trickling in getting ready for the weekend (which sometimes starts on Thursday depending on people's vacation times and need to take a very long weekend).

I think what you're missing is the idea of having the Eastern relatives come out to CA, instead of you visiting them. :)

Yeah, that would be great, except there's only stupidly cheap air fares, no stupidly cheap accommodation... We get free accomm with the family... :sad2:

Hmm... We've just gotten engaged... so maybe they'll spring for our accommodation...

Possible misunderstanding...did you mean to type CT (Connecticut) or did you mean California, for where your relatives live?

Could try hotwire (or even priceline) for cheaper accomodations....I got the Hilton one night in December for the same cost as HoJo's Entertainment Card rate ($59 base rate)... (hojo didn't have the ent rate that day)

Connecticut is where family is. When flying into the states we pretty much always have to change planes at LAX, regardless of where we're going, so in my opinion, that means every trip to the states = disneyland! :goodvibes

We'll be staying at the Parkvue which is always pretty cheap, it's not so much the price of the hotel, it's the fact that the more nights we stay, the more nights we'll have to pay for, the more food we'll have to pay for and so on. Staying with family = no nights to pay for and no food to pay for...

Hi!
Nice to 'see' another australian on here! I'm on the gold coast.

I know what you mean about the cheap flights! I was on the air new zealand site yesterday and they are offering adult return flights from sydney to LA for $702!!! Kids are only around $400 return! They are amazing prices! That is for travel in Feb.

Have a great trip!
Melissa
