can we talk about favorite products for face/body?

I'm specifically looking for wrinkle fighting products (I'm 49) for my face.

I use some MaryKay, some ROC products. Always looking for something better.

Also fav body moisturizers. I use MaryKay right now. It's ok. 2 people in Ulta recommended Nivea as their best body moisturizer. I was surprised.

And I know this has been discussed before, I thought a new thread would be good.

I'm 45 with combo skin. I use Algenist cream and serum on my face. I used to use Clinique and was pretty happy with it, but I was given a sample of Algenist and it worked better under my makeup.

For my body I use Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer. I'm sure there are more effective body lotions but I hate waiting around for lotion to dry. With Jergens I put in on after I shower but before I dry off, so I'm not sticky and I can get dressed right away.

I use Mac products and love them. They will "do" your makeup for "free" when you spend $60 and I'm always needing moisturizer, primer, cream, so any big occasion I make sure to coincide with a purchase.

I use Nivea body lotion currently, but vary that up. There was a really good deal at Target one day and a gf who ALWAYS looks like a million bucks had mentioned she used it. I wish I had half the dedication she does, and I've been very happy with my deal and the lotion.

I'm super low maintenance. I use Cetaphil with a Mia on my face every day and then Olay regenerist cream on my face. For my body, I use whatever Bath and Body scent grabs my fancy that day. I never wear makeup, though I have a bag full of expensive make up.

The biggest thing is to look at the ingredients. Most all of the drug store type brands have alcohol as the first few ingredients, I stay away from those. When we are younger, we can get away with the less expensive products but not so much when we get older.

I would recommend a high quality moisturizer, an anti-aging serum and an hydrating mask a few times a month or so (tough for me to do once a week). Sunscreen everyday, is a must too.

It Cosmetics and Juice Beauty are awesome products I use.

You can recommend all you want. :) At one month away from 43, I'm very happy with the way my skin looks, using the products I already mentioned. :thumbsup2

LOVE Algenist products, even if they're pretty pricey.

If you have a Sephora near you, I'd strongly recommend going and asking for help. Even though the employees are about my daughter's age, they have always been remarkably knowledgeable and give a lot of really great advice. Without making me feel old.

The Mia every day is ok?

I swear by Clinique, but I will admit that wrinkle fighting isn't my priority at this point. So I can't speak to how it works for that. But, I love their wide range of products, the price point, and how easily available they are. I use the 3 step skincare system, and have the travel bottles for whenever I travel. I recently got an eye cream from them as well. They make my skin clear and soft. I tried using First Aid Beauty skin products for a while and I noticed a change in the texture of my skin. I went back to Clinique and it was fixed!

We have a Sephora. I've been in a lot of times. Once I asked for their recommendation for their best neck cream, and they were like 'huh'? But of course it could have just been that one girl. It's a little hard for me to get past their makeup... all of them are pretty scary looking.

So sorry about your experience. I've been to two different Sephoras and have never had a bad sales person.

That said, I've never heard of neck cream, either -- something to look into!

Eh... they do their makeup intentionally that way for work to show off new products and their makeup skills. They all receive a ton of training and I don't believe they are on commission, so they have always been more than helpful with recommendations. They can also give you samples of any product in the store for you to take home and try before you buy. And even if you do buy something and don't like it, you can return it for a refund or exchange even if it's been used.

FWIW, I think it was Birchbox that sent me a neck cream sample once. They might have something on their web site, they sell all the products they send samples of.
