I had a bit of a shock the other day on fb. Someone had sent a tag request to me, wanting to tag a picture of my 3 kids. Now, I won't go in to details, but this is a person who I would not want to have a photo of my kids. She is not one of my 'friends' and we have never met in real life.

I checked my privacy settings and to my horror the albums were public! I know I changed my settings to 'friends only' a long time ago, and I certainly wouldn't have wanted my albums to be unrestricted.

The only explanation I can come up with is that I recently uploaded some new pics and that may have changed my settings. I am an occasional fb user, so please forgive my naivety if this is old news to any of you.:)

So has she copied the picture off your facebook account? Sorry im abit confused!

I regularly check mine as they mess with the settings so much when they make their changes.

I have all mine set to "friends only" and some photos for only "certain friends" to see if they are of other peoples children/have friends who are teachers etc :)

Last time they changed the settings, the photos seemed to change to everyone being able to see them. I have mine on friends only now.

Luckly i don't have many photo's on mine , but i will certainly be keeping an eye on mine.

I think you need to send a message to this person and ask if they would delete it as your not happy with this picture being tagged.
I hope you can get it sorted out

I have the same.

When they did a change to the security settings a few months ago they defaulted back so peoples profiles etc were not private and the settings needed to be reset.

Sorry, I wasn't clear in the original post. This person sent a tag request. I have not allowed her to tag the photo. I was disturbed at the thought of random strangers browsing my pics.

I definitely changed my settings to private when they changed the settings a while ago - they seemed to have changed back though.

Thank-you for the reminder, I've just been to check all my settings and amended the ones which I thought were already private! :scared1: I've checked through everything and will be doing this more often now!

Thanks for the heads up Juliette :thumbsup2 How worrying that someone would want to tag a photo of your kids though :sad2:

My thoughts exactly. You don't know what people's motives are.:sad2: It's worth checking your settings periodically to avoid unwanted browsers.

i too have just been through mine and found a few errors:scared1:
thanks for the heads up!

I've just checked mine, and half my albums were 'for everyone' to see, when they're normally 'just friends', thanks, I've changed them back now :thumbsup2

Same here!!! Thanks for posting, Juliette... :thumbsup2

I think it's a good idea to restrict your photos, I wouldn't want somebody who I wasn't friends with to be browsing my photos.

I have a lot of photos on facebook as we have friends and family around the globe that like to see the girls growing up. I just double checked mine and they are all as they should be:thumbsup2

So I am possibly the only person in the world that is not on facebook, doesn't interest me at all and sounds as though it can sometimes be a bit to open to anyone and I am also very camera shy. Anyway this morning I got a email from someone who I don't know asking me to join facebook and at the bottom its says here are some other people you might know. One of them is my sister (who knows I am not a facebook person) and two people that I haven't seen for years and not been in touch with. So how does that all work? Is this people that would have searched for me at one time or what?

Don't like to think I am being tracked:scared1:

Sadie facebook friend suggestions work via email adresses and people you have in common so if your sister is friends with people then FB would assume you are as well, its a great way to keep in touch with friends/family who are far away and the privacy settings do work

also you are not forced to add friends if you dont want to ;)

Ok the blondness kicking in now. I still can't understand how the email I got from someone I don't know would have three people on it that I do know and I know that none of them know each other.:confused3

Can just see my DD shaken her head at me asking these questions. :rotfl:
