Ok with all the changes lately, I'm confused :confused3:confused3:confused3

There used to be a way you could keep a friend, but also make your wall invisible to them. So if they looked at your wall, they would see you're still friends, but they couldn't really see anything. (maybe they'd think everyone saw your page like that :rolleyes1 )

So how do you do that now? I went on the help page but still confused. :confused3:rotfl:

TIA!

The box where you update your status- there is a drop down menu, you can customize who see's your post there. It saves the list and applies it every time you update your status.

Ok, thanks!
But what about previous stuff? Is there any way to block all of that?

I haven't tried it, but in your privacy settings there is now a thing that says 'limit the audience for past posts'. You might try going into that and see what kind of settings it has.

From what I can tell, thats an all or nothing setting, IOW it can't limit just a selected friend or two from old posts.

It used to be SO easy, before all these changes. HELP! Anyone know?

You can block new statuses from certain people seeing them~ can change it with each new status. Not sure about old ones~ I thought it said you could, but I haven't tried it. Go to the old status and click on the setting under it (friends icon, custom, or public) and see if it will let you change the old ones too.

Go to the home drop down menu in the top right corner and then to privacy settings you can custom edit who can see your wall. It's totally possible, I've have it set this way for some people for quite some time.

I used to do it too alllll the time. However now, I don't see how to do it. When I go to that page - and I have MANY MANY times trying to figure it out - I don't see how it can be done now. Can you be more specific please? I'd really appreciate it!

Ok...I'll try to see if I can talk you through this

1. Go to the home drop down and select privacy settings
2. Click on how you connect
3. The bottom option is ..."Who can see Wall posts by others on your profile?"
4. Select Custom
5. Select hide from and add the individuals how you don't want to see things that are posted on your wall.

Now this stops people from seeing things that other people post on your wall.

Now to stop people from seeing what you post on your wall
1. go to your profile
2. click on the box to type something (but don't)
3. at the bottom you should see a box that says custom, select that and add the people who you don't want to be seeing your posts.

Hope this helps. It used to be much simpler than this, it took me a while to figure out how they changed the settings to re-explain it.

Thank you so much. The first part (A) did work!! :thumbsup2

However, (B) didn't. I did what you said, but when I click on "View As" and enter their name, to see how they will view my wall, everything *I* posted is still there.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Or do I have to go down my wall and do *custom* on everything I already posted? Or is there another way?

THANK YOU again, very much. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help!!!

Edited to add - actually, part A didn't totally / fully work, because when I do the *view as* to see how they'll see my wall, posts from others are there *under* my posts. Is that because the posts that I wrote are still there, and so the replies have to be, too?
This used to be totally easy! Why did they change it?? argh!!!

Hey, mafibisha!

If you haven't already solved this, there is no need for all those steps. All you need to do is go to the page of the person you don't want to see your stuff and click the "friends" tab on to the top right of their page and hit "restricted." In essence, it is the same thing as the old "limited" profile option.

You can then go to your page and view how your friend sees your page.

:worship: THANK YOU. It worked - for the most part.

When I view how my friend (ha :sad2:) sees my page, only a few posts appear. I'm guessing those posts were on some of my friends' walls that are totally public?

Thanks again. No doubt you helped MANY of us Dissers, when you consider how many *views* this thread has had, 700+. woah! ;)
:worship: ;)
