How do you search for people by location, or by age? Isn't there some kind of advanced search? I'm looking for an old friend with last Chang and, needless to say, having little luck using just the name.

You can search by network, which is sort of the same as location, however it is where they were when they joined. For instance, My niece is still in the Cinci network, even though she now lives in Columbus

You can do a profile search, but I don't think that shows you people unless they are already your friends, or have a public account.

Good Luck.:)

Thanks for the info.

One question, what if the person didn't join a network? Or what if you don't know where the person joined? Seems crazy that a website as big as Facebook that is thought of as the ultimate friend finder doesn't have a better search tool.

You are automatically put into a network when you join. It's based on where you live at the time you join. Usually it's the closest "bigger" city, or a university/college.

I agree with the search stuff. There may be other ways but I can't figure it out. Maybe others have more info.

How do you know this person? Is it through a school or a former employer? There are "groups" out there for everything. I just joined a group for my elementary school and was able to hook up with a ton of former classmates that I couldn't find just searching with their names. Good luck in your search!

Sometimes people have tight privacy settings on their pages were sometimes their name can't be searched for Facebook. That might be why you can't find your friend.

I also have a facebook question? Is there a way you can view somones pictures, etc without adding them as a friend?

Depends on what they have their setting at. Even if you join facebook there is no guarantee you'll be able to see the pics. I have mine set at friends only.

No, you are not automatically added to a network when you join.
