I am so saddened and sickened by this!!
There has been a horrible tragedy in my hometown. A sixteen year old boy was struck and killed by a school bus walking to school. The entire town has came together to mourn for this precious boy.
Of course with the social media that is so popular right now, especially with teenagers, there has been two memorial pages set up for him on facebook.
Yesterday some fake profiles started posting graphic images. They took his picture and had it being ran over by a school bus with the caption "I got owned by a school bus!" They also had his face on the front of a bus that said with his eyes xed out. They even made a fake profile with his name and picture and have been saying "I am not dead guys, this is a joke!" They have been posting and writing unimaginable, hurtful things.
Of course the first thing everyone thinks is that it is kids in the community or even kids at his school but after looking at these fake profiles you can see that their posts are all on memorial pages doing the same thing. I think that is what makes me the maddest is that some people think instead of everyone coming together for this tragedy, it is tearing the town apart but that is not the truth. This is people who aren't even from around here and are so far removed for this that they don't even consider the family and friends that they are hurting.
A quick google search of "Trolls terrorizing facebook memorial pages" informed me that this is not uncommon and that these people target young victims who have been murdered, committed suicide or died tragically in accidents and do the same thing. I read that they made fun of a 16 year old girl who was raped and murdered. Who does this stuff? I sincerely believe this will come back to haunt them someday.
