Has anyone ever really claimed a "giveaway" from Facebook?

Like early tonight there was a post to a link and a bunch of my friends liked the link to a Target $500 gift card. I followed most of the instructions by it left me haning when it said it was going to email me a password as the final step.
I just pray its not a scam to hack my account.

I just see so many people do these things for prizes and I was wondering
DOES ANYONE EVER WIN?

I think the old saying "if it seems to be too good to be true, it probably is" applies to most deals like this on Facebook! Sometimes you can read the comments below and see where people have said it's a scam or at least an attempt to get you to sign up for something to get your email.

There are some deals that come through, like coupons for Olive Garden and you can click "get offer" and it's emailed to you. I've found some of those are legit, but the big money ones are probably just another way to suck you in so they can spam you to death!

Well, sadly my answer is "it depends"...

Just this week Costco was posting that a scam was going around about free gift cards... which they had nothing to do with, so THAT was a scam.

But sometimes (quite often actually), legitimate businesses use that to bring more customers in, or have them join their FB page- that way you get their ads- or install apps to participate in a contest - that way they get your info!

A few months ago I won a pair of headphones from Future Shop, and I have a friend who won a few things and even a trip! (she's always entering contests!)

I guess you just need to be careful and read the small characters...
