have a question.
There is a certain person who keeps trolling my facebook page, she is not a friend. However, I get constant emails asking from facebook, wanting me to friend her. For reasons I don't want to get into, I don't want to even know this person exists, in short of de-activating the account is there a way for facebook to stop sending me her a suggested friend?

Yes...you can block her all the way. Go to your privacy settings and it is in there...

Go to her page. There is a settings button next to the message button that has a drop down. "Report/Block " is one of the options.

Okay, I am so clueless when it comes to Facebook. Is that what it means when someone keeps popping up as a friend suggestion on my news feed page? That they have been looking at my FB page a lot? I thought it just meant that we were both friends with some of the same people. But like I said, I'm pretty clueless cause I don't do much with my FB page - just keep up with a few family members.

Facebook now allows anyone to send a message to anywone -- friends or not -- not sure if that means blocked or not --

If they send you a friend request it will ask you if you know the person outside of facebook. If you click no they won't be able to send another friend request.

It just means you have friends in common.

:thumbsup2 I agree there is no way to tell if someone is checking your facebook account. Besides that if you don't want people to see what you post then set your settings to friends only being able to see your post.

No, if someone is blocked, they cannot contact you at all. Their name will appear if you see them posting somewhere, but it will be black/not a link and you can't see their photo or view their public profile. I don't know how it works as the blocked person viewing the blocker, but I know enough about the other side :)

I'm confused. Is she sending you friend requests? How would you know she is "trolling" your page? If FB is simply suggesting her as a friend, it is because you have friends in common...right?

I don't know what your security features are, but I'd make my account as strict as possible.

If you block her, which is incredibly easy to do from your security page as it is, she won't be able to even search for you. If you have mutual friends and she comments on their post, you will see that someone commented, but you can't read it because she's blocked.

Honestly, the "block" feature is one of my favorites on fb.

I absolutely recommend this. Unless you are some type of attention *seeker*, there is no reason to allow anyone outside of your circle of friends to be able to see or post on your timeline.

Lock it down!

Since my account is locked down to friends only (NOT "friends of friends"), I have not a single person blocked. So... if you're finding you need to block a lot of people, it's probably a good sign that you need to lock down your account better.

Mine is locked down to friends only, but I still don't want certain people (cough brother's ex-wife cough) seeing anything about me. With the way Facebook changed things recently, there is still a certain amount of information that will always be public (timeline photo, networks, etc.) Also, sometimes I've removed people who I find annoying and they end up adding me right back once they notice. Blocking prevents that.

No, Facebook does not allow anyone to send anyone a message.

That is a setting *you* control. You can either have the setting "everyone can send me messages" or "only friends can send me a message".

I thought only friends can see my timeline and photos. :confused3
