I am trying to stick to a budget, well lets say a cheaper budget. I have very sensitive skin that still occasionally gets a pimple. I still have pretty oily skin and only dry around the eyes. I have some expensive dept store stuff, but I don't think my skin likes it and I want to change to something over the counter. So what do you ladies use for skin care? It doesn't have to be super cheap but not as expensive as the dept store stuff.

I use St. Ives Facial Cleanser. It's not a scrub, it says "Cleanser" on the front, and there are daisies on the top of the tube in the recently redone packaging. I buy it in Walmart for around $4.00 a tube. I've also tried the Loreal Cleansers - blue bottle - that has a little rubber scrubbie imbedded in the bottle. I threw the scrubbie thing out. This cleanser is more liquid than the St. Ives, but the overall effect is the same. I purchased this in Target for between $5.00 and $6.00.

I use Purpose. It's really gentle, soap free & oil free. I've got sensitive combination skin that ALWAYS breaks out around ovulation time & the end of my cycle. I wear fairly heavy eye make-up (usually black eye shadow & black eyeliner) and it actually takes all the make-up off, so that's a bonus too!

It's in Target, Walmart, the grocery store, etc. Clear pump bottle with a blue label. I think it's usually around $5 - $6 but recently there's been a lot of $2 off printable coupons out there for it.

I too have oily skin and occasional breakouts. In the AM I use dove soap (in the shower), in the PM I use Cetaphil. It's the only cleanser that does not irritate my skin and it keeps it balanced. It also removes all traces of makeup.

Cetaphil, from the drug store. Big bottle, inexpensive price. I use the 'classic' formula, but there are others out now for oily skin. Make sure you pick up the cleanser and not the moisturizer because the bottles are very similar.

My DD's Derm told me to buy her Cetaphil. Works great. SHe also suggested buying Basic brand moisturizer, which I did and it also works great.

I have oily skin, and break out easily (:scared1:) I can only use Neutrogena 2% salicylic acid wash ,it's orange,in a small pump bottle,I also use the generic equivalent at WM or CVS or Target it works better than anything else I've ever tried-
plus Oil of Olay Defense cream fragrance free- keeps me looking as good as anything can,at my age!:thumbsup2
In the past,I've tried just about every face thing for acne,wrinkles,etc.-proactiv,etcetcetc- this face wash works better.....and it's cheap!

I also use Cetaphil. It was recommended by a dermatologist when I was a teen and I've used it ever since. Walmart sells a generic brand for a bit cheaper that I use when they have it in stock.

I use Neutrogena 2% salicylic acid wash, it's gentle while still being tough on blemishes. I used to use proactive when my skin was breaking out but I find it a bit harsh for everyday use. I do use the proactive refining mask to spot treat when I see/feel a pimple coming on, I put it on at night and it's greatly reduced by the morning.

The Neutrogena wash also has a bath product if you have problems with body acne. My husband uses it and it's amazing!

I have oily skin, and I'm still prone to the occasional pimple. I like Dove bar soap, the unscented kind.

I will only use Philosophy Purity Made Simply products on my face. It isn't exactly cheap but I don't mess around with my skin on my face. Somethings in my life I am completely cheap about but skin care isn't one of them. :)

I find the Neutrogena bar (orangish color and glycerin based)to be one of the best facial cleansers--I get them for about $2. They are great for taking on travel--no liquid!

I use Neutrogena brand almost exclusively after the dermatologist recommended it. I also like the Stress Relief line--creamy cleanser or scrub, and oil-free moisturizer.

You basically just described my skin... I use Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. The Gentle version never got all my makeup off.

Thanks everyone. I had some laser surg done recently and my skin is acting a little different and I am not sure how to handle it. I did use Cetaphil after the procedure, and I it worked well. I think I will continue that now that I am all healed.

Cetaphil Gentle Antibacterial bar for sensitive skin for me - works just great for my very sensitive spot prone combination skin.

i work for dior... but the cleansers don't offer acne solutions plus i'm extremely oily--yet red in the cheeks... so i've ventured out and tried a few different ones. just because there are expensive cleansers out there, doesn't mean they're necessarily better for you--which is a win for people like me :) there are only 2 that i like:

1. Clinique Acne Solutions Acne Foam ($18ish)
2. Neutrogena Acne / Redness - It's Green ($7ish)

Both are great...

Philosophy's Purity Made Simple is pretty nice too, but I like the the extra S-Acid in the others.

I use Paula's Choice cleanser and BHA liquid which I buy online. I have very oily skin and break outs and this seems to control better than anything else I've tried.
