Face Characters at MGM Studios

I have heard from several people that they are not really around anymore??? Has anyone seen any recently? Our favorites are Mulan, Hercules & Meg. When we were there in the summer the face characters would appear at the entrance of MGM and the fur characters at the hat. Now I am hearing its just the fur characters at the hat.

This is a great question! I been wondering this, too! I was there last week and I checked FOUR different days, and not a face character anywhere! All the characters at the Big Hat were common "fur" ones - Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, plus some Pooh and Stitch. I think one day I saw Meeko and Prince John there, but hardly any character to get excited about! No characters at the entrance, either. That "face" rotation of characters was always my favorite! But the week I went there was high humidity and lots of rain/wind from Wilma, so I don't know if that effected things.

In April, the face character rotation was still out by the entrance. Looks like it may have changed.

I saw Hercules and Meg there during the summer too, and non-face characters by the hat in Oct. Dont' know if this answers your question....but it's a little more information.

Right now there are no characters other than Mickey, Stitch, etc out. They took them away for some reason. It stinks because you can't see Meg or Hercules anywhere else but that is why there are none out any more. They might come back eventually but it doesn't look like it right now. Don't ask me why they did this as they really say but hopefully it will change sometime soon.

We saw Hercules and Alice in Wonderland out by the hat this past Oct. Did not encounter any characters by the entrance.

Could it be that no one was available who qualified to be those face characters? There are lots of guys who would long to be Hercules.

I only saw them (face characters) in the 4:30 parade, this was the last week of September 2005.

I was there on Sept. 15 and the only face characters I saw were Mary Poppins, Snow White & Mulan. They were all at the main entrance. I mainly saw many fur characters while I was there including Mr Penguin (with Mary Poppins, Darth Vader, Mushu, Donald, Chip & Dale, Winnie, Tigger, Piglet & quite a few others.

Is it possible that many of the faces are college kids who have returned to school?
