Just wondering what is the DVC flagship??

There really isn't one, not in the sense that the GF is considered the flagship of the non-DVC resorts.

There aren't tiers within DVC, as there among the regular resorts (value, moderate, deluxe), so there's no resort that's 'better' than the others.

I'm going to move this over to the DVC-Mouscellaneous board; you're really better off asking DVC-specific questions on one of the DVC boards. You'll find the folks who really know the ins and outs of DVC there.

Well i mean ammentie's wise like.... I would think Bay Lake would because its the most expensive points and $$ wise and i think its better then most regular deluxe resorts..

The main reason BLT is expensive is because it's points are based on 2009 prices. OKW points, when selling by DVC, were priced in 1992 dollars.

Why is it better than most deluxe resorts? Few have ever considered the Contemporary to be the best deluxe resort.

In my opinion, although it's my least favorite of the DVC resorts, if you had to pick a flagship it would be Boardwalk Villas.

Everyone will have a different answer to this. It makes good sense that BLT would be considered the flagship given the location next to MK, the views, the monorail access, not to mention the price. However, each DVC is so different and each has its own positives, so in addition to Disney not differentiating one as a flagship, I think if you asked different members you'd get plenty of reasonable explanations for why some other DVC was the best.

I agree with you the Boardwalk Villas is the only DVC resorts that has most of the Resort... Unlike beach club villas its only a little part of it..

Thanks for the positive comments about my home BWV. I do believe that it has the most complete overall package...but I have to say that when I read the first post, the only resort that popped into my mind was THE Disney Vacation Club....

"Flagship" is definitely not a concept DVC owners even think about with DVC resorts. If you are thinking primary base resort, that would be the orginal one, OKW, because if it had been a failure instead of success for Disney, you would never have seen any others. Though its location is not near a park, it has a number of advantages for being the first built, such as lower point cost per night than others and huge 1 and 2BR's (larger than other WDW DVC resorts).

As for others at WDW, if you are thinking ideally located resorts in relation to parks, that would be BWV, BCV and now BLT. If you are thinking best themed resorts, my vote will likely be for VWL and AKV. If you are thinking those with rooms with best views it would be BWV boardwalk view, AKV savanna view, and BLT high floor MK view and a number of lake views. If you are thinking lots of open space, spas, walk to golf, and some of the most secluded and impressive treehouse homes, it is SSR. And of course if you want to go to the beach you have Hilton Head and Vero. And if you like Disneyland or live in the west and don't want to fly forever, you now have the Grand Californian at Disneyland.

In other words, all have their particular advantages.

When I saw this thread title, i said well that is easy, OKW, hands down. It's the original, it started it all, the rooms are the largest. It is and always will be the flagship!

Saratoga. It has the main office, the sample viewing areas for rooms, and the Golf Course.

Would you take a potential customer somewhere that WASN"T your best resort?

Of course, I also like the other resorts (specially Hilton Head), but, SSR is where they sell DVC.

To date DVC hasn't used an increase in points as a method to raise the costs. They have accounted for the difference in value of a dollar by increasing the costs of each point to sell. BLT is more points because it's a unique option that offers things that the other resorts do not, not as a method of simply devaluing the points in the system already.

As for flagship, many would consider it to be OKW because it's the first but I would agree there really isn't one in the true sense of the definition and there really shouldn't be because you want demand to be as equal as possible for all options.
