We were at the second showing of F! on Monday night. Just as the big boat was coming out, the music stopped, and the emergency lighting came on. After a moment there was an announcement that the show would be paused, and they would resume momentarily if they could. The boat began to go back off stage, it's lights flickered on briefly, then almost immediately there was an announcement that the show was cancelled.

So, now I am curious, does anyone know what caused the show to be cancelled?

They really should explain what happened better when these things happen, Voyage of the Little Mermaid was suddenly stopped early last year and they said nothing (I think it was technical difficulties, we went back later and the 2nd show everything was running properly, show went like usual)

Don't know abut what happened last night but it could be something like lightning in the area. The show is often canceled or postponed due to bad weather in order to protect the performers, and the guests.

Have not heard anything, I would guess equipment failure. That was going to take 1/2 hour or more to fix.

Why would they do that?

Well I don't mean go into detail, but say "technical difficulties" or something similar so at least new people won't think that was the entire show when that happens

Nope, last night was a calm night. I watched out my balcony from about 8:30-10 (I can see flashes from Fantasmic, fireworks from EP, SW and of course HS, but I didn't stay out for MK). There were definitely no weather delays and clear skies (no lightning).

I wonder if one of the performers had an injury or something? For the emergency lights to go on is interesting...

Is the second show at 10:30? Maybe I wasn't looking that late. But it seems unlikely compared to the bad weather we have been having...

Never going to happen. What if it wasn't technical but a medical issue? If they make an announcement sometimes but not others it will just add to speculation.

Not to make fun of something that could be serious but "Ladies and Gentlemen the remaining portion of the show has been cancelled as we search for a cast members severed pinky" As guests we may want to know but doesn't mean we have a need or right to know.

Oh that would make me so sad! I mean the show is good but the end is the best part!!!! Poor peeps watching the show. :worried:

We were there, too! I actually posted a thread on this as well, and someone responded saying that a fuse on the dragon shorted out and they lost all power on the island. Makes sense, doesn't it? Like the others who responded, it really would have been nice to know why. It could have been so easy to just tell us...

Sucks though. We were sad since we won't be able to get back to HS for the rest of this trip. I never miss Fantasmic. At least it wasn't my first time, but I feel bad for everyone who hadn't seen it before. Can't imagine they'll rush back to see it.

I suppose battery backup emergency lights would turn on due to a power outage.
But, you would think Disney had their act enough together to design an electrical system so that a performance effect could never take out a critical crowd safety lighting circuit.
