i know theres a sticky on it but can someone 'explain' the food and wine to me. is it samples of food that you pay for, is it complete meals you have to get....what? and anyone know what kind of prices they have? we were there for it one year but paid no attention to it as we were wanting to do other things. we will be back there for it this october and i am thinking maybe we should be checking it out.
and if i recall right, there were booths with trinkets for sale to, right?

bump..... :goodvibes

From what I understand, much of it is little "samples" of different things from the regular countries in EPCOT plus more. I hear they are set up ALL over the park, not just world showcase. Prices range from $3 to $7 for "snack size" servings...but they have other things you can pay more for if you are interested....

this is just what I have researched and heard from CM's...we are going this year so I would also appreciate anyone who knows more about it....

Its both, You can get appetizer type food, or what I would consider a meal like a lobster roll. Its only in the world showcase (kiosks set up in between the various standard countries.. Each year they add maybe one or two countries...They may take some away as well.

You can look at what is offered here: http://allears.net/tp/ep/fw09/fw09_booths.htm With prices

Typically they have a line entrance where you order/pay and then pick up. some are more popular than others.

opps sorry here is the 2010 list..but no prices yet http://allears.net/tp/ep/fw10/fw10_booths.htm

The food booths are only in World Showcase. The "festival center" (or whatever they call it) is in the Wonders of Life building back in Future World, but there are no food booths there (they sell souvenirs and wine in that building and some food and wine seminars are held there). The"snack size" servings are the only size servings that you can buy at the food booths (but you can buy more than one of you really like something :rotfl2:).

There will be about 26 international food booths all around World Showcase Lagoon in World Showcase They each sell snack size dishes of their native cusine. Usually an entree or two as well as a dessert. They all also sell either native beer or wine. The food portions are tapa sized and cost about $ 4 - $ 7 each. It can add up quickly. If you are on the DDP you have been able to use your snack credits for the food samples (but not the beverages) the last several years. There is also the Eat to the Beat concert series, which is on 3 times each evening in the American Garden Theatre. All of this is included in Epcot admission.
There are also many, many signature food and wine events that cost extra.
These range from wine tastings to the Party for the Senses to Signaure dinners in the restaurants. These events cost anywhere from $8 to $450 per person extra. Many are already sold out.
The festival is a blast and we love it.
Enjoy

From what I understand, you can also get a "swipe card"(similar to a debit card), put $$$ on it(it can be reloaded) and it's a faster way to pay and not have to keep going to your wallet(making change really slows things down!). I have not done this myself, but plan to when I go in ONLY 88 DAYS! Whoop!:goodvibes

They actually sell a cute little wristlet gift card for F&W (although you can use it anywhere - it's just a Disney gift card). You can wear it on your wrist and use it to pay for things at the F&W booths - very convenient.
