For those who did not see it yet, here is the Disney Parks Blog announcement from today.

We will be there early October. Am I remembering correctly that DVC members had the option to book events before the general public? If so, how far in advance? Obviously it is less than two weeks in advance, if at all!

Last year I took advantage of the one day early booking for DVC/Disney VISA/whatever and booked my Beer and Food Pairing at Le Cellier and 3D Dessert Event on Aug 12. I'm sure it was only one day.

By the way, Le Cellier was very good and the 3D Dessert Event was not worth the money at all.

Sadly, I'm getting "trained" in advance planning. Thanks for the feedback on those events. We have done enough dessert events at WDW that the 3D thing does not really appeal to us. Now, a beer and food pairing is right up my alley, although DW is not a huge beer fan.

We're actually kind of interested in the Parisian breakfast at the France pavilion. We only have a few days, so we don't want to over-schedule our time and not be able to enjoy touring the park.

Anyone else with a must-do special event or activity?

You have to book that immediately. We tried to get it last year and it was gone after I booked the other two. It looked interesting to us, too.

I don't really drink much at all, so I was prepared not to drink much of anything at the beer pairing. But the Unibroue beer was very good. And I came home with a favorite, Ephemere Cherry. The Unibroue tasted more like wine than beer. Some very light, some heavier. And the food was excellent. We had a beer somalier from Unibroue (outside of Montreal) telling us about all the beers. You can hear some of his stories on their websites.

We were given a Unibroue glass with the special reserve logo on it, and the menu which was rolled up with a maple leaf napkin ring.

Deb- th Le Cellier/unibroue event sounds great. What should I be looking for/asking for to book that, and what was the rough cost?

It was called Culinary Adventures in Signature Dining and it was held on a Tuesday for lunch. Started at 11:30. So this might be the same.

Savor your way through a phenomenal dinner while a Chef (sometimes a celebrity Chef!) takes you through every bite, explaining technique, menu choice, and wine pairings. These special dinners everyday, and they sell out fast!

When: Look for more than 20 dinners throughout the festival!
Where: Around Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts
Pricing: Prices are per person plus tax. Gratuity included. Theme park admission required for restaurants within a theme park.

Le Cellier Steakhouse: September 30, 11:30AM Cost: $109; Al Youngman, Chef de Cuisine
Le Cellier Steakhouse: October 14, 11:30AM Cost: $109; Al Youngman, Chef de Cuisine

This is what it was last year: Le Cellier Steakhouse: October 8, 11:30AM Cost: $90; Al Youngman, Chef de Cuisine; 70 guests <– New for 2013!

This is a link to the Unibroue website and the sommelier. He was so entertaining. http://www.unibroue.com/en/beers/sommelier/about

We had an appetizer in the entryway with Don de Dieu. First course was a fennel scented scallop with Ephemere Cherry (my favorite). Second course was Kurobuta Pork Belly with La Fin du Monde. Third course was Wagyu beef short rib with Maudite. Dessert was Grand Reserve 17 beer float (toasted pretzel ice cream with Grand Reserve 17 beer), citrus pate fruit and dark chocolate caramel macaroon.

Oh, bummer- no overlap with our dates. But thanks so much for the details! Sounds wonderful.

I wonder if anyone has any updates?

Booking for F&W events for DVC Members began 7/25.
