We are heading down next week on our vacation. While F&W was not the reason we chose this time, now that we will be there I want to check it out. We are a group of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids. We are very "basic meat and potatoes" kind of family. I have looked at the selections.. and am leary to rush over as I don't see anything that we would be interested in. Question is am I jumping to conclusions and should still try it out? or just breeze by for the experience knowing there won't be much for us? Any help or suggestion would be greatful.. I would just hate to miss something because I am closed minded...

thanks in advance...

THe F & W festival is set up as booths near each country in World Showcase and as you are walking around the countries you can pass by the booths and see what they have to offer. I would try it, the portions sold at each booth are small so its easy to try things and see if you like them, you could buy one and share it to see if anyone likes it before getting more. We went to the F & W festival when DS's(twins) were 6 and 8. And there were a few things that they really liked, the Bratwurst at Germany was one in particular (I'm not sure if that is offered this year). They also like the offerings at the booth in China. There was also a chocolate booth that I loved! This was a good way for us to have lunch, we would "graze" our way around the World Showcase. DH really like the wine samplings too. Have Fun:sunny:

Try it! Even my very picky 12 yo finds things he likes. There are Italian and Mexican booths that are his favorites. I am fairly picky also and I really enjoy lunching at the food and wine. Even if you try something you don't like, you really haven't wasted much money anyway.

If you are not the adventurous type of people, then don't go.

There is nothing, strange or out of the ordinary offered at food and wine fest. You will find the same type of food offered in many local restaurants, regular and upscale.

If you don't normally eat chinese, mexican, french, etc foods, then the food/wine fest is not for you, of course...unless you would like a real treat!

For the kids... There is usually a Kids Station... 2 years ago it was near UK. They had kids sushi - it was some rice krispy treat, rolled up and around with different flavors of fruit roll up. It was really cute, very tasty and familiar and our DD loved it. We'll be searching that out for her again this year.

Bratwurst is available at the counter service in Germany year-round. Along with a Beck's this is one of my most enjoyable meals at WDW. Simple and delicious.....

My picky eater gulpped down a big glass of watermelon juice at Mexico every night.
