F&W Experts - Party For The Senses Worth It?

Ok, so I'm debating on booking the Party for the Senses at the Food and Wine Festival. I find myself struggling to justify the cost. I really want to do it but want a bit more info before I make a final decision.

F&W experts out there --- can you give me any insight into the Party For The Senses? I obviously know the basic description but any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Mainly, is it worth it? I would believe so since 1) it's Disney and 2) I know there are many fans of this event. Just want further justification. LOL

My DH and I did Party for the Senses last year for the first time and we had a great time! The food and wines were, of course, amazing and we also just really enjoyed the atmosphere. The Cirque entertainment was great and we are still enjoying using our wine glasses from the event. There are many food and wine stations set up around the room and you are given a program of sorts that tells about the different offerings and where to find them in the room then off you go! You can do as many as you like as often as you like. It was fabulous and I'd do it again in an instant. Hope this helps.

DW & I did our first party last year. WOW! As LoriKay said, there are different stations set up around the room. There are three different food selections at each station, and wines that are paired to go with those foods. We asked the chef which of the wines he would recommend with his creation, and most of the time they were right on the money. We marked our "menu" to make sure we remembered which wines we really liked.

We did not go to the special seating of the Concert, but rather got over to the old Milennium Village area where the party was being held. There are quite a number of guests attending, and last year not enough tables to seat everyone. If sitting is a definite, then I would recommend getting there a little early to make sure you will get one. In case you don't, the plates have a slot for your wine glass so that you can hold the plate with the glass in one hand, and use your utensil in the other.

In our opinion, the party was definitely worth the price, and we hope to go again this year!

The food offerings sound fabulous. But I don't drink alcohol (DD will be with me and she will enjoy the wines). Do they offer anything to drink besides the wines and beers? Thanks.

The food selections and level is top of the line, you can easily get your money's worth just from the food. The entertainment is a bonus and you do get a premire viewing location for Reflections of Earth.

I love fine dining and the food I have tasted the past two years at Party of the Senses was some of the best I had.

I love wines and this was a bonus as I got to meet some of the winemakers and individuals from the wineries. In fact, I met and got to know Kathy Seghesio that evening and fell in love with her wines. Two years later the same wine was named one of the top 100 by Wine Spectator magazine. So, you never know what wine you will find there or how good it may be.

I say definitely go to this event. I am very upset that my schedule will not allow us to be at WDW on a Saturday this year during F&W.

We're going to the Nov. 5 POTS. My wife REALLY likes wine. I like wine too but I REALLY like beer (we both REALLY like food). Isn't there supposed to be beers from around the world? I haven't heard anyone mention anything about that. Am I going to be the only one drinking the beer? Also, where is the event located? Do you get a view of Illiuminations? Thanks.

I believe that Sam Adams had a table at Party for the Senses last year, but I believe that was it. There was also a champagne or sparkling wine. And then lots and lots of wine tables. Party for the Senses is our favorite F&W event by far. You've got entertainment, a wonderful atmosphere, live music , incredible food and some very good wines. I'm surprised that they didn't raise the price this year.

BCM49er- My DH spends most of his night drinking beer, not wine (And eating the fabulous food)....DVCGirl is right - there has always been a Sam Adams table as well as a table run by Interbrew - the distributor of Stella Artois, Bass and a few others (They also run the FREE (yes, FREE) Great Beers around the world tasting held at the Rose and crown a few times each afternoon- ps- you have to be on the list to get into those - and they start filling the lists when World showcase opens....)...


Do stop by the Sam Adams table though - in the past, they have had samples (tiny samples) of Utopia - their $100 a bottle (IF you can find it), uncarbonated artisan beer (More like a brandy, actually)- that has the most alcohol content of any beer in the world (sort of broke the alcohol/beer barrier as it were...)----it's super yummy ---- and if you don't want to try it --- you can give me your sample, I'll be there on the 5th too!

And speaking of whether the PFS is worth it - I'm going to at least 2, maybe three of them - it's that good! (And never the same twice!).....

No, there is no DDE discount for any of the Food and Wine events. Bummer isn't it?

They do have water (usually used to rinse the wine glasses). Other than that nothing except wine and Sam Adams.

There is a dress code. Resort Casual but no shorts, tube tops, tennis shoes amd some other items I can't think of at the moment. They will give you the list when you call in your reservation.
