Heading to DLR March 14 15 16. Me DW DS14 DS15.

I have already reserved F! Premium at RBT for 3/16 and WOC of Diining at WCT for 3/15.

I want to do both but have been outvoted by the rest of the family. DW says too much money. Both DSs say too many shows. They want rides.

We have NEVER done WOC

We love F! but have not seen it since the 50th anniversary year. What is that like 12 years ago?

The family has left it up to me where we spend our nice dinner and show night and I am conflicted.

Whichever one we don't do a package on we will probably regular FP the other.....

What would you do?

If I had to choose, I’d FP WOC... I will only see F! with a dining package (First show, anyway) - although the F! Premium RBT doesn’t appeal to me because of the poor view...

I have only done WOC with a dining package one time and didn’t see the point. Seemed like almost the same time investment as a FP for not a much better of a view - I didn’t find much value, personally.

In summary, I watch both shows 5-6 times a year, usually, and always use FP for WOC and always use a dining package (usually Hungry Bear) for the first F!

As usual I agree with @Skyegirl1999. Don't do a WOC dining package unless you already want to dine at one of the restaurants.

However, the WOC Dessert Party is a splurge and provides greater WOC value than the dining package - but much less food.

Since the DLR 50th in 2005-2006 Fantasmic has changed. Most would say the updated version has higher quality production but a somewhat lesser quality show. I myself will always choose WOC over F! and if you have to choose one, then choose WOC. With that you can do the free FP thing, but you have to study the details. If you are not willing to do that then don't bother as WOC will be a disappointment. If you can get yourself to a good viewing spot then WOC is the best choice IMO.

I wouldn't do the RBT premium package. For what you pay, it doesn't look like the view is that great. Any of the other dining packages, I'd recommend.

In the same way, as PPs have said, the WOC dining doesn't get you THAT much more than regular FP (you still have to wait, no sitting, and no guaranteed view). IMHO, if you're already looking at RBT Premium prices, do the WOC Dessert Party instead. No, it's not a dinner. But you'd be surprised at how much food there is. We noshed on ours for days afterwards. I could totally see skipping dinner for the Dessert Party. If you have a small dinner around 5-6:00 (I'm talking snack level), the Dessert Party food won't leave you hungry.

Agree with the WOC Dessert Party recs -- and they let you bring in your own food if you want something more to go with your sweets (and, yes, it is a lot of sweets!). We've seen people bring in corn dogs! Very good view of the show with the least wait.
Agree that the RBT Premium Package isn't all that great -- view, in my opinion, is hardly premium, especially for the price. We love the Blue Bayou Package. If you want to eat at BB anyway (inside POTC!), that's the package to go for -- center, waterfront viewing for F! -- totally immersive, great view of the show. Otherwise, do the Hungry Bear Dining Package for F! -- this is the most economical package (you can order off the prix fixe or the regular menu -- but the price will still be for the dining package) -- and the viewing area is right next to the BB section. So for much less $$, you could be sitting right next to the BB guests. Great view, much less wait. If you decide to try free FP for F!, do the second show. Viewing will be easier.

If only doing one special viewing, I'd go with WOC Dessert Party. The snack plate is nice but the view can't be beat.
The seating is so much more enjoyable. No worries about having a taller person blocking your view. Being on the shorter side this is an issue for me.

For Fantasmic! I'd pull a general FP for the second show.

I will recommend WOC since you've never seen it. Also, they made some changes to F! at Disneyland and I find it not as good anymore. I don't like what they did with the music at all. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

I'd suggest keeping the dining package for Fantasmic and use regular Fastpass for WOC, that way you see both! Get to the queue area long before any CM will tell you to. If it says return 30-60 minutes prior, I'd show up even before then. You can usually see lines start forming, if they are, you should be there too. We are short, we like to see, nothing is fun if you can't see it. I am probably in the minority - but I've never viewed Fantasmic or WOC with dining package. We have always ended up with great viewing spots because we plan to be in line or in the vicinity so when lines start forming we join in, then when the actual queue opens up we can be towards the front of the pack and go right to where we want to view from. For WOC we make a point to get to a spot that has stairs and stay right at the top of the stairs. If anyone ends up being in front of of us, they are still down a step and it doesn't block our view. We've viewed WOC twice this way and it works great for us!

You got outvoted by the OP's family. They said one or the other. :) So we are trying to advise the OP on which one.

I believe he wrote that his wife said two dining packages was "too much money" and at the end of his comments he wrote, "Whichever one we don't do a package on we will probably regular FP the other.....what would you do?" so my apologies that I offered my opinion (thought that was the whole point of forums) on which one I'd pay for and which one to FP and why was not offering (according to you) the advice he was looking for.

Sorry, upon further reading you are absolutely right. I was focusing on “too many shows, we want rides” and was trying to address that sentiment. Also the title of the thread “F! or WOC?” But the OP leaves the door open for both.

Sorry for the misleading OP. Yes looking for opinions and advice on which show to spend dollars on. Will see both with or without the boys.

Leaning towards F! at RBT. I know the view isn't the best but at 6 ft 6inches I cant see myself sitting on the ground. We'll FP WOC. My boys can head to DL for attractions that night.

I've done both WOC dessert party and F! Premium RBT. I'll see if I can find/copy a review I did from a year ago. RBT was so not worth the money. The view wasn't great, the people in front of us at the rail stood up to film, I asked them politely to sit and they refused, just moved in front of someone else. I stood in the back most of the show and we were never served any drinks out on the patio before or during the show.

If you have not ever done WOC, I would do the dessert party and skip the RBT.

Found my brief review..it was on a fb post, not here:
"My son and I did the Fantasmic dinner package with premium viewing seats tonight and it was the first Disneyland experience that I felt was definitely not worth the cost.

I won't go into details...too long...but if you know me irl, you know that I pretty much say, "shut up and take my money" to anything Disney, so just know that I do not recommend anyone waste their money on it.

On the plus side, got a cool light up lanyard and an awesome dessert."

This is my view from our 2nd row table. The walkway in front of RBT was kept pretty clear so people walking by wasn't really an issue, but note the guests seated in front of us, the kids on shoulders, the large tree on the right, and the pole located in the restaurant, all of which partially blocked the view. I could have gotten up and stood in the back of the restaurant to get rid of the view of the pole, but overall it just wasn't a great view. You can see that the waterline where some of the projections happen is really not visible at all. Even the view of the guests in the front row would be partially blocked from the guests standing watching the show on the other side of the walkway.

I've watched the show from a "stand by" spot (ie, grabbing a spot where I could) in the past in front of HM ... this was a better view than that was, but the other dining packages definitely have better views than RBT IMO.

This poster would appear to agree with the pp. Click on the link to see a photo of her "Premium" view. You can't prepick your table -- so it is luck of the draw where you end up. If you can live with paying for a view this far back and possibly obscured like this (and, to be fair, you might get a table at the rail in the front row), then the Premium Package might be fine.
