F&G as crazy as F&W?

And if you head to the festival center and watch the making of the festval video, you'll see my son's back while he is helping put the capt hook and crocodile topiaries together.:daisy:
What I dislike about the festival center is that it's only open on the weekends. Since I have the week day only APs we can't see anything in there. Really dissappointing.

Is F&W that bad on weekdays as opposed to weekends? First trip is this year, and I had ever intention of avoiding epcot on the weekends. I am hoping weekdays will be tolerable.

looking at your ticker, will you be there the end of September? if so, weekdays should be do-able (I'd go with Tues or Weds, whichever doesn't have pm EMH = more people at the park). imo Mid week is manageable first two weeks in October.

just be careful of the folks steering large strollers with one hand and a juggling a drink in the other.:rolleyes1

I'm sooooo glad to hear that F&G is much much less crowded than F&W! Our first time will be over the first weekend in April! I'm excited!

Now to the poster that asked about F&W.... We have found that weekdays are the way to go... The earlier in the week the better. We went early in the week three days in a row this past year: started when World Showcase opened at 1100. By around six each day we were ready to go back to the resort and rest. We were able to sample any of the tapas: there were places to stand and eat or sit and eat (especially if you have a Filet from Canada, for example). Wait lines for the booths were short and moved quickly.

The last time two years ago when we went over a weekend to F&W, we waited over twenty minutes in each line and were lucky to find a rubbish bin to eat on: never again....

But now I'm excited about Flower and Garden... Thanks to the poster for the picture of the displays under the monorail tracks....

And this is one factor contributing to our cancelling our BWV reservation for April this year. The high ticket prices are NOT supported by the limited/restricted displays, exhibits, educational opportunities, etc.

October 15th - 23rd.

Avoiding Columbus Day.

I've been to both for the last 3 years, was at F&G week before last. I enjoy both for different reasons. It could be the time of year I go but I don't find either unmangeable but it might depend on your tolerance level for crowds, mine is pretty high. I did notice that there didn't seem to be as many garden related products this year (but loved the new Dooney) and hate that the festival center is only open on weekends for F&G. I love the culinary and wine seminars during F&W, there are more ethnic booths for food tastings and the festival center is open daily. They are both fun for me, if I had to choose, I'm in the minority and would choose F&W.

Thanks for all the responses. We haven't been to F&G since they started having the food/drink booths, so I was curious how much that would affect the crowd level. After several years of increasing crowds at F&W, even during the week, I just want a chance to enjoy World Showcase without all the hubbub. The booths do a good job of distracting me from the regular offerings too! I think we might do a F&G trip in upcoming years (in May though) and a September trip when there is no festival at all. We lived 5 minutes from Epcot for awhile and I miss those really low crowd times, which are getting to be few these days.
