F&G as crazy as F&W?

Hi! After our last visit during F&W, we've decided to avoid it next time we go. World Showcase has just gotten too crowded and crazy during that time, I'd like to be able to enjoy the atmosphere of the pavilions without all the extra craziness. My other favorite time to go is May, during F&G. Have the food booths made F&G as bad as F&W for crowds?

We just got back, and it was no where near as crazy. We went both afternoon and evenings and the worst line we waited in had 2-3 people in front of us. We weren't in Epcot over the weekend, but even if it was twice as crowded it wouldn't be bad at all!

We've been only once to both and found F&G much more pleasant than F&W. We were easily able to attend multiple lectures in the Festival Pavilion, take our time combing the gardens (taking lots of notes/pictures), nibbling on select treats from the Outdoor Kitchens (booths), etc. Learned lots and still hope to launch a strawbale garden ... if/when I can find some organic straw bales.

FWIW, F&W was a "once and done" experience in our books. We didn't enjoy the crowd (the attendee demographics and behaviors). We had hoped to make F&G a regular, repeat trip but cancelled our BWV reservation due to Epcot ticket pricing. When the ticket prices are in line with the overall experience (keeping in mind that the F&G Festival Pavilion isn't open during the weekdays) -- we'll reconsider.

We absolutely love F&G. The blooms are gorgeous and you get a taste of the food booths without the absolutely ridiculous crowds. We find it much more enjoyable than F&W, honestly.

F&G has a different vibe and seems like a different group of people. F&G is less crowded and more enjoyable IMO.

We tried both last year and much to my surprise, we liked the F&G much more. Plenty of food booths , not nearly as crowded on all the days we went and we really liked the concert- and we easily were able to get seats in the back right before it started.

F&G doesn't seem as hot & humid, at least for dates we've visited. Might be due to less people cramming into the festival area.

We've stopped doing F&W on weekends. Looking forward to upcoming F&G, not much of a gardener but love the topiaries.

We've always done both & have found F&W to be a lot more of a frantic pace with folks. We only go during the week since we have the seasonal APs. The only difference is this year F&G seems to have less food booths than last year & a lot less outdoor items for the yard. Which I pick up every year. I think this year we will probably pass on F&W And go mostly for the holiday decorations.

Have been to both last three years. Flower & Garden is a very subdued event in comparison to Food & Wine. You can get large crowds during March and April but that is just due to the fact that it is the spring break week crowds, including the Easter weeks. The weekends are not really worse than the weekdays. If you wait to late April or May to go, crowds everywhere are more manageable. Food & Wine is like going to a highly touted football (soccer) match with huge and rowdy crowds, while Flower & Garden is like going to a cricket match with its required breaks for lunch and afternoon tea.

We were there for our spring break and thought it was pretty busy on the weekend, but totally enjoyed the F&G weeknights. We tried several of the options with a brief wait and enjoyed what we tried. Our last F&W we thought it was totally crazy - much too crowded to enjoy strolling in the evening to sample.

Is F&W that bad on weekdays as opposed to weekends? First trip is this year, and I had ever intention of avoiding epcot on the weekends. I am hoping weekdays will be tolerable.

It is quite crazy. We have the week day only APs & have been the last 3 years. Long lines at all the food booths. We just get the passport first & see which ones we really want to try. That's the reason we like F&G not the huge crowds at the Botha.

We felt the same way. After going to F&W for the first time last year, from now on we'll skip it. It just makes EPCOT way to crowded.

And if you head to the festival center and watch the making of the festval video, you'll see my son's back while he is helping put the capt hook and crocodile topiaries together.:daisy:
