Is there any portion across 528 to/from Port Canaveral where EZ Pass won't work? The online map is a bit confusing.

Where are you starting? If you are just going between MCO and the port, EZ Pass will work for the two tolls along that part of 528.

Yes, just to and from the airport. But if we go to WDW, I assume its good all the way to I-4?

We went from the port to WDW last September. The toll closest to WDW was not EZPass, the other tolls were EZPass. Things may have changed since them. Search the forum here. There are links to the entities / organizations that run the highways. There are actually two that are responsible for 528. A zip lock with a handful of quarters always comes in handy. I asked the same questions...

It's all pretty confusing. A few years ago when they announced compatibility with the GA Peach Pass I thought for sure I was going to come home to a mountain of fines. Especially since just about every toll flashes a violation at you because apparently the pass itself is not compatible, they use the license plate instead. In my case it turned out they all worked, but that definitely does not seem to be the case yet with EZ Pass

your problem is the toll plaza on 528 west of the airport, b4 the turnpike and I-4 which is in the GREEN (no EZ area) if you take 417 you can stay in the purple. Don't worry about the green section east of 520 to the port and Titusville. Altho these are technically 'no ez pass' there are also NO TOLL plazas here!

Yeah, the interoperability thing is not exactly smooth. I got a Sunpass before GA rolled out the Peach Pass because we go to WDW or cruise regularly. There have been several occasions where Sunpass's system has crapped the bed and caused lots of "violations". They get cleared up but it's still a hassle having to worry about it.

There is a new pass available call the Central Florida Expressway pass or E-PASS. It is compatible with EZ-PASS and SunPass. It can be used in 18 states and covers Florida and MCO parking too.

No. Once past MCO on 528, the toll authority changes and it is not accepted. We take 528 to 417 to WDW, exiting at World Center Drive (shortly after the second toll on 417). That route is E-Z Pass all the way.

i got a sunpass a number of years ago and just keep using that, just easier too pull out when i get to FLA
