I wear glasses and was wondering . . . what strategies do you use to keep your glasses on when riding the rides?
I watched a video podcast of the California Screamin ride and the only thing I can think to do is to use both hands to press my glasses into my head the entire ride. 1. Is this possible? 2. Will this impact my first coaster experience?
Contacts are not an option (I hate them and they make my eyes itch).
Thank you in advance for any advice/suggestions you can provide. Oh and by the way it would help if you could provide this advice before Tuesday because after that it will be too late because we will be at Disneyland! Woohooo!

My husband keeps his glasses on for almost every ride. I think there might be 1 or 2 rides where either we see a sign to remove glasses or the CM tells us to remove glasses. I think he holds them in his hand. I wear cheap sunglasses and I keep putting them into my pocket or on top of my head, depending on how wild the ride is.

I use a sports strap on mine - I got it from WalMart. It's basically a shoe-string sized string with rubber ends that fit over the ends of your glasses. You adjust it to your head, and it really helps keep your glasses on during the really wild ride! I even use it at water parks, with the loop of the strap tucked underneath my braid, and it keeps my glasses from floating away when I get dunked

I think it will depend on how tight your glasses are. I wore mine and didnt have any problem.

I think it will depend on how tight your glasses are. I wore mine and didnt have any problem.

I wear mine on all the rides, and have never had a problem.

I wear glasses sometimes and I've worn them on Screamin and Mailboomer, so if they can withstand that I think they can withstand any ride. However, mine are a good fit and not really loose.

DH and DS take them off and put them in their pocket! Taking no chances in losing them! LOL

Thank you everyone for your help. Although it sounds like I may not need them as my glasses do fit well, I am going to Walmart today to get those straps just in case. 3 more days until Disneyland, we are so excited.

My boys put their glasses in their glasses case then in their pocket. I put mine in my purse and DH puts his, um, I don't know where. I know on Space Mountain and IJ he puts them in the little net thing in front of you. Other than that I don't know. LOL

My dad wears them on every ride and they never even budge!
I know that mine would move around too much so I never bother wearing them in the parks but if you have the wire framed kind that can be fitted properly around the ears then you'll be fine.

And if you can go without while riding and just hold them or stash them in a case in your bag, then you're even better off because then you can have fun without any worry.

A sport strap would definitely add a lot of security and you can tuck the band up under your hair (assuming you have longer hair) and no one will even know.

I wear mine on every ride, never had a problem, since so much of disney rides are the stuff you see while your riding, it seams a shame to not be able to see it.

Add me to the list of wearing my glasses on all rides-I wouldn't be able to see anything if I didn't!

I normally bring a sportstrap w/ me, but i have also rode w/o one. The one time I went on Space Mountain, I was afraid my glasses would fly off so I took them off. Along w/ not being able to see a thing on the ride other than a few colored blurs, I got really nauseous. Won't ride w/o glasses again.

Thank you again for filling in the gaps that a guidebook can not fill. I am taking my 2 daughters to DL (leaving on Wednesday morning) and I am trying to be really prepared for any event. My wife could not get vacation time, so it is just going to be the 3 of us for our first Disneyland Experience.
